Escravos Gas to Liquids (GTL)

A grassroots GTL facility converting natural gas to produce ultra clean GTL diesel. The plant is designed to have an output of 34,000 barrels per day of GTL diesel, naphtha and liquefied petroleum gas for export. The Escravos facility uses a leading application of GTL technology: Sasol's Slurry Phase Distillate (SPD) process which consists of Haldor Topsøe's proprietary Autothermal reforming, Sasol's proprietary Fischer-Tropsch technology and ChevronTexaco's proprietary ISOCRACKING process.

Responsibility on the project included Supervision / Checking Instrument specification sheets, control valves, silencer and flow elements sizing calculations and reviewing purchasing requisitions. Support piping by acquiring inline devices dimensional information for PDS modeling. Met with client to discuss technical issues including PHA recommendations. Reviewed technical Bids and directed Engineers. Wrote PDN for changes from feed licenser packages, to account for cost differences. Assisted in developing P&ID, material trending, and supplier drawing reviews. Interfacee with Milan and Mexico offices on different Engineering issues and work flow.

BP Kapok Feasibility Study - Gap Analysis for HP Wells

A production platform and a separate drilling platform in 220-ft W/D. KBR performed a Gap Analysis study on the Kapok platform located in Trinidad & Tabago for the Drilling of High Pressure wells.

Worked on high Pressure Gas Well Study. API 15000 wellhead HIPPS valves choke valves requirement and availability in the market. Modifying existing wellhead Panel to accommodate SCSSV and SSV, verses having new Panel for two new wells. Cost estimating for Sand Probes, choke valve, HIPPS valves, Motor Operated Valves, V-Cone meter, and transmitters.

Engineering services contract from Cabinda Gulf Oil Company (CABGOC) for the Tombua Landana Drilling Production Platform (1,200 ft W/D) in Block 14, Cabinda, Angola. Project includes definition & development of engineering bid packages for an estimated TIC of $1.5 billion. KBR will perform FEED and Detail Design for the topsides production facility & project management for the Compliant Piled Tower (CPT) substructure, & risers for both the pipelines & the subsea drilling center flowlines.

Developed P&ID for Process fractionation, storage and Jetty areas. Took part in Preliminary PHA of the P&ID’S. Developed ERW for Anti-Surge, high pressure drop valves, and Custody Transfer skids for Propane, Butane, C5+ Gasoline and Feed Gas. A linear alpha olefins (LAO) facility on the NOVA Chemicals Corporation Joffre site near Red Deer, Alberta for use in the production of a wide range of consumer and industrial end-products including plastics, synthetic lubricants, and detergents. The Prairie Rose facility is Canada's only producer of LAOs. KBR provided EPC services.

Standardized PLC hardware and software for compressors, furnaces and blowdown flare units. Standardized graphic/panel view key pad function for all 13 PLC. Performed bitmapping of all PLC to display analog and digital points via DH+ communication in the DCS. Developed BPA’s P&ID from Vendor P&ID’s. Conducted FAT’S for PLC compressor /furnaces and flare unit panels at vendor shops. Reviewed and implemented electrical MCC and DCS control systems interfaces with PLC panels.
