Promoted to position of increasing scope and responsibility
Answer telephone and electronic inquiries regarding data published on National Compensation Survey (NCS) website. Prepare phone duty schedule for staff to ensure phone coverage is available during work hours. Keep website up to date. Provide special data requests retrieved from the database using SAS programming. Keep Joint Economic Committee binder up to date for congressional meetings. Prepare regional screening sheets for sample initiation. Backup for ECI and ECEC news release process. Fact check for Employment Cost Index (ECI) and Employer Cost for Employee Compensation (ECEC). Team lead for processing Mage Modeling, detailed provision and Occupational Requirement surveys through UPUBS.
Prepared CD of publications for regional staff and data users providing information found on BLS website. Assisted with preparation of Associate Commissioner's briefing. Review and revise data for Joint Economic Committee used by Commissioner for sessions on Capitol Hill.
Reviewed requests for clarification of compensation survey instructions or procedures. Researched and revised existing compensation documents. Revised user manual to clarify and update existing procedures both on hardcopy and online while adhering to proper manual style. Drafted proposal for questions to be added to survey.
Collected establishment wage and benefit data obtained through voluntary survey. Retrieved data from database by creating batches, created for myself and fellow reviewers to facilitate review of collected data. Reviewed data input into system by field economist. Analyzed data, and communicated with field economist regarding data needing clarification. Contacted major respondent directly to resolve questions of data quality. Worked independently on quality review of collected data. Validated between 50,000-60,000 quotes per quarterly update.
Reviewed summary plan descriptions and analyzed provisions in employee benefit plans. Entered data into database. Reviewed plans of varying complexity. Ran queries used to pinpoint data outside expected range. Researched validity of results. Met deadlines as requested by management.
