Assistant to the Owner
Handled the daily operations of the office for Geronimo S. Leal(Jerry), managed the business accounts, payments transfer of money. I also handled his Human Resources, Legal matters, personal matters as well. Coastalmail Service, Inc. was under a Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and I assisted him with and with the attorney Alan Potter. I did anything asked of me from running errands to running the business when Jerry got ill. Jerry had to have open heart surgery in Dec.23, 2016 and so at this time took over for him. He is a contractor for the USPS; we delivered mail for the post office in the Corpus Christi, Victoria and McAllen areas. In his absence, I and the office manager and payroll manager took care of matters. I made the decisions of how and what was to be done in his absence. I assisted as well in the handling of account payable invoices owed to our clients. Kept track of the monthly bills, familiarity of all office equipment and general office skills. Handled the write ups of drivers. I handled the New Hire paperwork and submitted to office manager to hand over to the correct department with the USPS. On June 30, 2017, the Department of Labor took funds from the business account which forced us to close the business it was in trouble, I can’t run without fuel funds I was able to pay the employees but at this time we had to close, and lay off everyone including myself. From December thru the closing of the business myself, and the other ladies did an amazing job of holding the fort in his absence and he was very pleased with our work. Thus, just means on to a new chapter, new job
