I am a B.Sc. and MBA qualified and results driven experienced manager interested in joining the supply chain and/or manufacturing function of a forward-looking organization in a managerial role.

CAREER SUMMARY

I have been responsible for plant performance, including infrastructure and capacity planning, process certification, production planning and scheduling, procurement resource planning, distribution and transportation planning, labor structuring, cost forecasting and gross margins.

PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS

Leadership and Mentoring

In my capacity as the Head of manufacturing I led a team of 4 direct reports and 160 indirect reports to achieve accountability for Budget implementation, Procurement and inbound logistics resource execution, and Planned cost delivery, I also delivered accountability for gross margins & Productivity, total manufacturing cost and non-production spend along with accountability for coaching and development of subordinate managers.

In my capacity as a Production manager I led a team of 4 direct reports and 120 indirect reports to achieve production targets with accountability for Production planning and scheduling, Product Quality and Food safety, and labor structuring.

In my capacity as distribution manager I led a team of 4 direct reports to achieve accountabilities for outbound logistics planning and depot management

I was a member of the change management leadership team Kraft/Cadbury integration team for West Africa.

I was directly involvement in recruitment, training and performance appraisal activities.

Project Management

I was responsible for the installation and commissioning of 85T/day candy continuous process plant in West Africa after a 12 weeks experiential program to the Cadbury Candy plant in York, UK (2014):

Jointly led the Site coordination for Mondeleze International Global Quality Chain Management System Audit (2013)

I was responsible for the Implementation of SAP manufacturing for Cadbury West Africa I was the manufacturing process lead (2012)

I was responsible for the Installation and commissioning of 45T/day gums manufacturing plant in West Africa after a 16 weeks exchange program to the Cadbury Trident plant in Barcelona, Spain (2010):

I led the distribution network redesign to improve delivery time and schedule adherence of trucks in Nigeria (2008)

Production/Quality management

I established Standard Operating Procedures for new and existing factories.

I trained operators and technicians on the tenets of GMP, HACCP and 5-S

I trained and integrated pioneer factory team members in new plants

I led product process and shopfloor activity flow redesign to improve ergonomics and reduced headcount resulting in 22% reduction in direct labour cost.

Productivity improvement

Led a team of 2 direct reports with accountability for plant productivity savings, and tracking of value optimisation initiatives across manufacturing and supply chain delivering $6 million in benefits

Introduced new raw material spec (21% reduction in price) with minor recipe reformulation

Conducted shopfloor manning audit and workload study leading to 12% reduction in head count.

Introduced new packaging material design to eliminate cost of ink leading to 5% reduction in final packaging cost.

Trucking route realignment leading to 27% reduction in turnaround time for northern Nigeria bound trucks

Standardization of trucks to reduce in-transport product damage leading to 70% reduction in in-transit good damage.

Investigated root course and suggested strategy for waste and variance reduction in the batch process plant. Leading to reduction in raw materials waste generation from an average of 6% to 1.4% and monthly adverse variance from an average of 22million Nigerian naira to 4.3million Nigerian naira.

Achieved 34% increase in gross margins from 26% to 35% on a major brand in my capacity as manufacturing manager.

Supply chain management

Deployment SAP for product replenishment planning, inventory planning & execution

Delivered transportation cost as per budget.

Implementing agreed transportation value optimization initiative leading to reduction in turnaround time by 27%.

Realigned the finished goods quality management system to the Mondeleze International Standards.

Engineering and Facilities Management

Installation and commissioning of four shell and tube heat exchangers and their ancillary equipment (Pumps, Pipes, tanks etc.) (four 90T/day helix candy cookers).

Supervised the installation and commissioning of four vapor separation and dehydration units. (Vapor separation chambers).

Supervised the installation and commissioning of two 20,000 CFM dehumidifiers.

Supervised the installation and commissioning of 3 vapour absorption chillers.

Supervised the installation of two 2,000 CFM dust extractor.

Supervised installation of facilities equipment (compressed air, steam and water conduit pipes, valves, cable trays etc).
