Context/Challenge: Played Key role in creating an excel based data relay macros that took abstract data from the exchange feed and presented it in a trader friendly form.

Actions: Spearheaded cross-department efforts within the firm when a solution I sought to be developed for my own quick analysis metamorphosed into a standard companywide excel tool.

Context/Challenges: 2013 general elections were three months away and based on 2007 post- election violence, needed to urgently and diligently sell as many PVT (political Violence and Terrorism Covers.

Actions: Slow bureaucratic approach to issuing special class covers resulted with me partnering with our Reinsurance team to develop a sell declaration template limited to certain risk exposure to enable my brokers’ portfolio to self-underwrite as many covers as possible within the set criteria and for me to confirm tentative cover subject to their clients submitting risk notes.

Results: Achieved over Kshs 50 Million in premiums and with a personal target of Kshs 10 Million per month, had a threefold over achievements of targets, most importantly we were able to get huge accounts on our books that we could cross sell other insurance policies.
