Carrying out piping thickness survey; in compliance with API 570, Pressure vessel, Columns and exchanger UT thickness survey by managing UT Thickness survey team and reviewing thickness obtained and proposing further required action to the BPCL Inspection Engineer.

External and Internal Inspection of Heaters (Crude/Vacuum/Reformer), (Before Cleaning and After Cleaning) of Pressure Vessels, Filters, Heat Ex-changers, Columns(Atmospheric/Vacuum/Stripper) and Reactors(CCR/NHT) during Turn Around Shutdown and Pressure testing after the planned work is carried out.

Inspection of Columns and Vessels, Crude and Vacuum heaters, Fired and Unfired boilers, Heat exchangers

(shell and tube, air fins), Storage tanks(Floating roof/Fixed Roof/Dome roof/Fixed Cum floating), Pressure vessels.

Hydro testing and pneumatic testing of pipe lines, pressure vessels, Heat exchangers, Swivel Joints, storage tanks (Water fill and Pneumatic tests), and witness vacuum box test for bottom plates weld Integrity.

Witness pressure relief valve testing as per API 527.

PMI check of Alloy base metal and Welds, Verification of joint configuration based on approved fabrication drawings and carry out fit-up (using Hi-Lo gauge) and final weld visual (using Bridge Cam gauge).

Witness Intelligent Pigging of 30” Crude line from Jetty to Refinery using Profile Pig, Cleaner Pig, Caliper Pig and MFL Pig.

Performed NDT methods like dye penetrant test, diesel penetrant test, radiographic testing, magnetic particle testing, Corrosion rate monitoring, UT thickness monitoring and hardness test (Hammer test/Electronic test).

Witnessed LFET of tank bottom plate of Atmospheric Storage tank.

DUTIES AS GRADUATE APPRENTICE (MAINTENANCE DEPT.)

Shutdown maintenance of Boilers (Fired and Unfired), Steam turbines and its accessory parts were done.

Overhauling of pumps and re-conditioning of Mechanical seals, Testing of Mechanical seals, Overhauling of Relief Valves, Lapping of its seat etc. were carried out.

Familiarization with Engineering Drawings such as P&IDs, Isometrics, PFDs, Equipment Lay Outs, Plot Plans etc.

Fabrication, Erection of pipelines, Pressure Vessels, Storage tanks and Hydro test of the same was carried out.

Hot Tapping and Cloak Spring Installation was carried out for critical pipelines.

Heat exchanger re-tubing was carried out in fabrication yards.

Technical Evaluation for various equipment were done, Reports were made and when procured, Material Code for warehouse was issued.

Responsible for carrying out Mechanical Clearance and conducting Hydro test/Pneumatic test with strict compliance with Client Inspection needs.

Radiographic film interpretation and carrying out of dye penetrant test as per the NDE requirements specified by the Client Inspection department.
