MEDICAL TRAINING
At Maimonides Medical Center, the training program includes the following
Managing up to 22 patients while supervising two interns
Inpatient floors including: Geriatrics, Oncology, Telemetry and Stroke Units
Managing night medicine admitting and floor teams, overlooking patients, doing up to 10 admissions per shift
Managing patients in the Medical ICU and Cardiac ICU units
Working in Primary Care clinics and subspecialty clinics.
Working in Total Care Management program involving home visits
Working in various electives including Cardiology, Critical Care, Infectious Diseases, Pulmonary, Radiology, Nephrology, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Pain & Palliative Medicine
Serving as Code Team / Rapid Response Team Leader while on call
Experience of performing central lines, midlines, arterial blood gases, pap smears.
Experience with management of cardiac and ventilator management.
Currently involved in a hospital wide quality improvement project aimed at reducing errors in blood transfusions and type and screens
Part of the resident union as well as the Resident Quality Improvement Council
