EXPERIENCE
Working with The Le Royal Meridien Chennai, India as General Manager since May, 2016. It is a 241 rooms hotel with 3 restaurants, bar and a hip Night club of the town. The hotel has the 2nd largest banqueting facility in town and can accommodate 1200 pax in theatre style. The hotel has been a host to many dignitaries. During my tenure we hosted IATO dinner and also Hon’ble Prime Minister of Guyana and Hon’ble Vice President of Mauritius stayed with us. We very successfully did Outdoor Catering for 15000 staff of an IT company, over 2 Dinners .
Worked for 7.7 years with Four Points by Sheraton Navi Mumbai,
Vashi as Vice President and General Manager. Joined in June, 2008
as General Manager during the project stage and have successfully
launched the First Four Points By Sheraton in India. I underwent
orientation at Four Points by Sheraton Daning, Shanghai for 2 weeks
and at Starwood’s Asia Pacific head office at Singapore for a week.
The hotel has 150 rooms which includes 32 suites and that makes it
the biggest hotel in Navi Mumbai. The hotel boasts of the finest facilities in Eat, Drink & More. In addition, the 2500 sq.ft of Gym is franchised by
Wellness Guru Mickey Mehta & has the latest equipments with facility
like Kick Boxing and Power Yoga. For wellness, there is Aristo Spa,
which is a part of Serena Spa. The hotel has set a benchmark for its
comp set and achieved the highest REV Par over the years amongst its
comp set. The hotel was No.2 in 2012 in REV Par Index amongst all
Starwood Hotels in South Asia and gave the best ROI for the owners
against their portfolio of J W Marriot, Renaissance Mumbai, Westin
Hyderabad, The Resort, Mumbai, Marriot, Bangalore etc. Since its
inception, the hotel has been a host to many VVIPs and International
cricket Teams like, India, Australia, England, Holland.

EXPERIENCE
Worked with Ritz Hotel, Mumbai as General Manager from 19th
March 2003 till 17th June, 2008. The hotel was managed by Mr. Rajeev
Chopra, M.D, Residency Hotels Pvt. Ltd. The hotel is known for its
hospitality and food. Over the years, this hotel has been a host to
several dignities and VVIP guests.
Worked with Hotel Victor Palace, Kolhapur, as General Manager for a
short duration in 2002. This assignment came during the Gujarat riots.
The hotel has very nicely done large sized rooms with a Coffee Shop,
2 Restaurants, Bar, Discotheque, Fast Food Centre, 3 Banquet Halls, 2
lawns for parties and also a salon, swimming pool and health club.
Worked with Tulip Star Hotels Ltd. from Dec. 2000 where I was
posted at Revival Hotel, Baroda, an Eco-Friendly Award Winning
Hotel as General Manager. Left Baroda due to communal riots in
Gujarat.
Worked with Choice Hospitality India Pvt. Ltd. as General Manager
for two years and was posted at Comfort Inn Sunset, a Boutique
Hotel at Ahmedabad. Joined the hotel in project stage in Jan. 99 and successfully opened the hotel. In a short span of time, the hotel made a good name for itself.

Worked as General Manager with Hotel “Jehan Numa Palace”,
Bhopal for two years (December ’96 to January ’99). This is an award winning Heritage Grand Hotel. New York Times has covered the hotel and specially its food many a times.
Worked with Hotel “Quality Inn Peerless”, Calcutta for three years
from Dec. 1993 to Dec. 1996. I joined them as Assistant Food and
Beverage Manager and was later on promoted as Incharge for Food & Beverage Department. I was responsible for the overall operations of the department; this included the award winning authentic
Bengali Restaurant “Aaheli”.
Worked with Hotel “Quality Inn Peerless”, Calcutta for three years
from Dec. 1993 to Dec. 1996. I joined them as Assistant Food and

Started my career with “Taj Group of Hotels” as Catering Assistant and was promoted to Senior Catering Assistant. I had to leave due to personal reasons so declined my promotion to Restaurant Manager. During my tenure with them, I worked in various F & B outlets at the following Taj Hotels from 1988 to 1992. I was a part of the opening team of Restaurant at Chennai’s International Terminal and also the pool side Bar-be-cue at Taj Bengal.

MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS GENERAL MANAGER
RITZ HOTEL, MUMBAI
Completely turned around the property. Occupancy level reached a new high.
The plan of renovating the property was initiated and closely
interacted with the architect and had a new mock up room done. I was also assigned the job of negotiating with union and settling VRS scheme for the staff of Ritz Hotel, this was done in 21 days time in June, 2012. The hotel is undergoing a major renovation.
JEHAN NUMA PALACE HOTEL, BHOPAL:
Supervised major expansion work of 3.4 crore (in 1997). A complete new wing was added which included pillar less banquet hall for 600
pax, 140 covers restaurant with interactive kitchen and an English
style 50 covers pub. We also added a garden barbeque named under the Banyan Tree.
Managed large operation of this hotel, which included a coffee shop,
2 restaurants, bar, pub cum discothèque, banquet facility for 20 to 600 pax, health club with swimming pool, sauna, steam, Jacuzzi, indoor games, mini golf, tennis court and horse riding facility.
Organized many corporate functions, food festivals, fashion shows and events successfully.
Slashed and reduced the overtime wages cost by 60% and increased the F&B sales by 35% over previous year.

Did selection and procurement of material as I had joined the hotel in the project stage. Also completed recruitment and organized preopening training sessions for Staff and Executives.
Implemented standard operating procedures of Choice Hotels International.
Introduced and implemented new marketing and advertisement ideas to boost the sales.
Bagged a major account of one of the aviation companies that gave us 70% of our occupancy for 3 months during the slack season.
Got the qualifying marks needed for Gold Award during the

REVIVAL HOTEL, BARODA:
Brought down the staff strength by more than 30% and increased the guest satisfaction level in a very short time.

Upgraded and renovated the Restaurant and the Health Club. The
Restaurant - Charcoal Pit was re-opened after renovation with emphasis on Dum Pukht Cuisine.
The Union related problems were handled in an efficient manner.
Brought many firsts to the city of Kolhapur like Arabian Night and Belly Dance.
During my tenure, we achieved the highest sale for the year.
My interview was telecasted twice in Zaike Ka Safar, a very popular food related program in Zee T.V channel. Zee Business and IBN7 also
interviewed me. I have been featured in many magazines and
newspapers. My article on Exit Interview was published in Express
Hotelier and Caterer.
