Terminal supervision of 125 drivers, and operating a fleet with 200 trailers, along with coordinating timely movement of freight to meet customer demands, through dispatching, supervising, and scheduling of pickups and delivery of freight. Logistics Manager (SAIA Motor Freight)

On site Logistics Mgr. at client’s HQ in the customer service call center, for a Major L/T/L Carrier. Primary responsibilities consist of soliciting potential truck load volume from internal/external customers and sales force, with a focus on expanding the new department’s capacity across the client’s existing coverage regions. Also, negotiating all RFQ’s and RFP’s, truckload pricing for the department, along with handling any accessorial and discrepancies cost. Maintain all weekly internal clients’ billing.

High volume call center with an average of 30% captured business per week from a daily average of 400-500 calls for quotes.

For the 1st half of the 2008 fiscal year, the account operated at a 23% P/M – 8% above the established P/M of 15%.

Planning and directing: utilizing TMS and basic operational tools to develop transportation plan for the next day for all inbound and outbound requirements.

Ensuring proper routing, scheduling and consolidation of loads by studying the pattern across facilities.
