• Responsible for advising on all legal matters for the OCI Fertilizers & Chemicals Group which comprises of;

Egyptian Fertilizers Company (EFC),

OCI Fertilizers Trading (OFT) - (Dubai)

As a general counsel for Orascom, my role consists of providing legal support both on the holding and subsidiaries level.I currently report to the group CFO and receive requests for legal advice from the management teams at the holding and subsidiaries levels. My current roles and responsibilities include providing accurate and timely counseling to senior management in a variety of legal topics such as general corporate, banking and finance, commercial, litigation and arbitration, labour law, etc.) My corporate background enables me to lead contract review processes and provide business legal advice as well as identifying and managing compliance and corporate governance issues.

In September of 2017, I've been also provided with the role of Regional Compliance Officer for the MENA region to monitor the applicability of our code of conduct as well as local laws in the region. I'm also designated as the regional contact person in case of Whistleblowing incidents. I handle all communication with international law firms such as Allen & Overy, Shearman & Sterling, Cleary Gottlieb, Al Tamimi & Co, Linklaters and local firms such Zulficar and partners, Baker & Mckenzie, Al Tamimi & Co. Over the years, i developed strong relations with the partners of those firms.

Won International Arbitration Awards under the auspices of the ICC with aggregate amount of 400 million dollars (ICC)and a mega Arbitration under the CRCICA. Successfully signed deals with MENA governments with an aggregate amount of 1 billion dollars Drafting and reviewing concession agreements, facility agreements, engineering procurement and construction contracts, as well as sale, purchase and supply agreements.
