I have a fierce commitment to the political process and the pursuit of progressive issues in an effort to guide our country forward, with an eye on the horizon. We are surely in the one of the lowest valleys in American politics. With your organization I would apply my plethora of experience in the political and non-profit world for the last three years to act on climate and oppose any and all attacks on human rights. Over the past year and a half with the League of Conservation Voters the volunteer teams I have built and led consistently met and exceeded given metrics. I have served as an issue advocate, a campaign organizer, and an organizer during the 2017 NV legislative session. I created lasting relationships with members of the community and retained most of my volunteer base for over a year. The last few months I have even taken on additional responsibility filling in for my previous Regional Field Director after his departure. In advocating for LCV and NCL’s environmental causes I have established and proven my ability to connect with individuals from partner organizations, local businesses, schools, and progressive leaders in the Las Vegas community. My career path has made me a jack of all trades, which allows me to creatively problem solve in any role. I look forward for the opportunity to work with you in a new role with the team.

PROFILE

I have cultivated and maintained a deep connection to work that engages with local communities throughout my career. My employment over the last three years has been exclusively with non-profit organizations in both the political and educational sphere. My passion lies in applying my skillset as a coalition builder, community outreach coordinator, and an educator to engage disenfranchised groups and to create grassroots movements. I have been a key player in meeting and exceeding my metrics as a member of the League of Conservation Voters Climate Action Program.

EXPERIENCE

Field Organizer, League of Conservation Voters; Las Vegas, NV: 2016-2017

During my time with LCV, I became incredibility fluent in adaptability. I oversaw the logistical and strategic management of teams of volunteers. I also had to maintain a tight schedule and adjust to incoming changes in policy and legislation at local, state, and federal levels. I was also responsible for public outreach and education according to our organization’s mission and to train our volunteer base to be able to do the same. In some cases I was required to act as Regional Field Director when needed. I have completed a cycle in electoral and issue based organizing during my time with LCV.

Docent, The Neon Museum; Las Vegas, NV: 2014-2016

While I was fortunate to be at the Neon Museum I was responsible for facilitating the connection between the public and the cultural heritage of Las Vegas, while combining elements of architectural history, cultural history, and folklore. I also spent time working in the archives, cataloging and carrying out research for the museum to later employ in public and educational outreach. I also helped manage the execution of special events on occasion.

Graduate Assistant, UNLV; Las Vegas, NV: 2013-2014

I spent a year tutoring student athletes at UNLV in history, study skills, and test taking. I graded papers, managed clerical work for the classrooms I was assisting, and taught some brief lectures in addition to meet with struggling students outside of class. This afforded me hands on experience working with those who needed to develop better learning strategies to meet their goals and expectations of the class.
