Hydril Pressure Control is a $100MM division of Hydril Company LP which manufactures complete blowout preventer systems / stacks to include BOP’s, control systems and valves for the oil and gas industry.

Plant Manager, Manufacturing

Managed plant turnaround and complete manufacturing technology upgrade of Pressure Control Division. Responsible for manufacturing operations of the company’s only facility producing land and subsea pressure control equipment. Managed approximately 165 production and support employees, encompassing all areas of

manufacturing in an ISO certified facility.

Managed implementation of a $10MM state-of-the-art manufacturing upgrade program to include: purchasing latest technology in CNC machine tools, welding equipment, metrology equipment; an extensive machine tool rebuild program; new building construction and plant relocation /consolidation.

Successfully implemented Lean manufacturing principles for improved performance and 5S organization for maintaining cleanliness and order in a facility with 120,000 square feet of manufacturing floor space.

Managed construction of the Hydril Deepwater Assembly building that completed on schedule and shipped the first deep water blowout preventer stack on time.

Upgraded metrology equipment to latest technology and developed an internal gage calibration laboratory with capability ranging from 0.000 – 62.000”, resulting in better control of calibration time and cost.
