WORK EXPERIENCE:

Software Assistant, New York City Department of Education, New York, NY. March 2016 – Current (1 year 4 months)

The New York City government, Department of Education provides various services to all the five boroughs across the city and the Department of Education acts as a liaison between the families & teachers and provide proper educational constraints to close to 1 million students each fiscal year.

Responsibilities:

Understand System Requirements Specifications (SRS) and project modules by discussing with project manager, tech lead and follow the standard SDLC procedures.

Assisted/written code to fix complex issues by doing root cause analysis of a problem.

Part of software design document (SDD) implementation, working along with the project manager, tech lead and rest of team members.

Performed Software deployment in Java, C# and PostgreSQL, MySQL.

Used UNIX and PowerShell Desired State Configuration (DSC) for testing and ensuring the declarative state of a system.

Write SQL queries and run them on large scale applications to support the development team.

Post design reviews with changes, approvals from project manager implement next steps as per work break down structure.
