I was the Local Fleet Manager. I managed all daily activity for a fleet of 35 drivers. Planning and dispatch of head haul and back hauls as well as handling all customer service, planning and dispatch functions for our New World Pasta account. Managed yard checks and trailer pools within a 50 mile radius of Mechanicsburg. Scheduled PM services for trucks and trailers. Verified and authorized weekly payroll hours of my drivers for our payroll department. Worked with various trailer rental agencies during spikes in business in order to facilitate customer necessities. Managed those rental trailer pools to ensure timely return to reduce costs. Order entry for my customer service responsibilities. Unloading, reloading and transloading of trailers at our dock for both company and customer needs. Worked with our over the road planner to ensure all freight was picked up and deliveries as scheduled. Worked together daily with all internal and external customers to be sure all goals were met.

Responsible for Quality Control issues, OS&D problems, equipment problems, railroad invoices, quoting rates to customers, rate issues, brokering loads, securing backhauls, securing new business lanes, and a variety of yard checks that are distributed to customers and brokers daily. I also handled daily dispatch and customer service functions in an inter-modal operations office.

Managed daily dispatch operation for a fleet of 50 OTR, 35 North East Regional and 10 Target dedicated trucks. Responsible for customer service/contact, planning and equipment for the Target account in Wilton NY.

Managed a fleet of 45 OTR drivers in the Eastern US. Dispatching, customer contact. Managed driver's home time (getting them home and getting them back out to work). 1st Driver Manager in my group to ever achieve 2 consecutive days of 100% utilization. Worked closely with planners to make sure drivers would pick up and deliver on time. Managed drivers productivity to ensure daily revenue goals were met.

4/1999 - 8/2000. Dispatcher / Customer Service, Transcorps Enterprises.

Scheduled inbound and outbound pickup/deliveries. Dispatched drivers on loads originating and returning to the Norfolk Southern rail yard in Harrisburg. Monitored and reported trailer demurrage. Reported out of service equipment to brokers and rail contacts, requested new equipment when necessary. Reported delivery and pick up information to brokers. Reported/requested detention at the rail and customer locations to the brokers. Reported/requested all accessorial charges to brokers.

6/1990 - 4/1999. North East Regional Ops Manager Shaffer Trucking New Kingstown PA

Responsible for daily dispatch functions for a fleet of 70 North East Regional drivers. Logistics Operator for off site Pillsbury account in Fogelsville PA where I would work on site at Americold. There I would build loads from several customer shipments for fitment onto a 53ft refrigerated trailer. Those loads I would then schedule for delivery, plan and dispatch on my dedicated Pillsbury drivers going to the New England market. Managed our Bally Engineered Structers account by working with the customer in the planning and dispatch of walk in freezers. Managed our Mrs, Smith's account by working with the customer in schedule and dispatch those loads from Pottstown to Fogelsville PA. I went on to supervise 2 customer service representatives and 2 dispatchers, reporting to the Operations Manager.

5/1989 - 6/1990. 2nd Shift Operations Manager, National Freight Inc.

Tunkhannock PA

I managed all dispatch and shop functions for 2nd shift. Planning, dispatching, managing our local jockey/shuttle drivers. Calling customers to inform them of any delays in pick up or deliveries. Preparing for weekend work activities at our terminal such as moving loaded and empty trailers to the front drop lot so drivers would have access to them during the times our terminal would be closed.

3/1987 - 5/1989. Night ops clerk / Territory Manager Shaffer Trucking

New Kingstown/PA

Began as a night operations clerk/dispatcher and advanced to a Territory Manager responsible which involved planning freight out of Eastern PA, NJ and Metro NY.
