ERP Consultancy & UK No 1 Coffee Company (COSTA) Mar 2016 to Mar 2017 Data Lead

Consulting to an ERP transformation consultancy I was tasked to be the Data Lead for COSTA Coffee (the UK number one coffee company – above Starbucks) and performed phase one of a project to migrate customers to a new Loyalty System where loyalty accounts for around 55% of all transactions and revenue. I extracted 6+ million cards / customers, 500+ million header purchase transactions from their legacy systems and performed ETL data migration activities for in-scope phase one customers. Phase one go-live was planned and successfully delivered before end of 2016. Very much an agile project I reported the Programme Manager, Solution Architect, the consultancy director and new CTO. Provided weekly and ad-hoc statistics as requested.

I was recruited and joined KPMG (SAP systems integrators) after being interviewed by one of their directors to work on a global template design and rollout for a major PHARMA wholesale and retail company which operates in 14 countries and has a reported turnover of €22 Billion with over 38,000 employees. I was the data stream lead for the global template build template team I was tasked to produce the SAP Data Migration Strategy and Approach Document and many other data migration template documents to be used for the local country data leads. Identified around 100 In-Scope Data Objects including Master Data and Transactional Data.

SAP Client Staples - Sept 2015 to Nov 2015 SAP Data Services Data Migration Cons

I was recruited to assist Staples (the second largest internet online retailer after Amazon.com) to perform the Data Migration activities for their Customer Data Objects. Out of 2.2 Million Legacy System Customers we finally agreed the rules to bring across 348,000 active customers to their new SAP / ERP Platform. Additionally, I was tasked to perform Data Harmonisation between five Legacy & Reporting Systems. Working with their Systems Integration (Accenture) I collected the Legacy Bespoke IBM AS/400 data and successfully uploaded via LSMW uploading method and provided proper reconciliation after loading.

IBM – Jan 2015 to Sep 2015 SAP Data Migration & Data Architect

I consulted and joined IBM at the beginning of Blueprint Phase (straight after the Mobilisation Phase) for a Norwegian company called Yara, who has a reported turnover of £7.7 Billion and employs over 10,000 employees. I reported directly to the IBM Project Manager (also IBM Director) and worked closely with the Yara Supply Chain Project Manager, IBM Solution Architects and the SAP Programme Director. Working for Amey (via a small SAP Consultancy) I assisted in the on-boarding to SAP from a new Business Acquisition of a company called Enterprise who had a reported turnover of £1.1 Billion. I reported to the Data Team Lead and work closely with their chosen Systems Integrator (ATOS). I initially joined to assist in Data Extraction from Legacy Systems but I ended up assisting with Data Transformation and Data Enrichment for over two dozen Data Objects covering Master Data and Transactional Data. Statoil (Oil Industry) – Jul 2013 to Dec 2013 SAP/ERP Data Migration & Val. Cons.

Working for the Norway’s number one Oil Company who operates and delivers to more than 2800+ service stations in many countries. I reported to one of the Program Managers within their Steering Committee and also to the Data Team Lead where I worked on three separate Data Migration Go-Live Projects. I joined the existing SAP/ERP Data Migration Team to assist them with the Transactional Data Objects (especially Purchase Orders) assisting with Data Validation before Loading and Proper Reconciliation after Loading. This project had a “burn rate” of EUR€4 Million+ a month (EUR€200K a day) so the project time line was very importance. This Project was my first SAP to Oracle Project and has had two Oracle Magazine write-ups where it has been quoted as Oracle’s largest implementation ‘to date’. The counties which we successfully migrated was Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland. Reckitt Benckiser (PHARMA) – Jan to April 2013 SAP Data Migration & Data Gov.

Working for a Power Brands & PHARMA Company RB who owns big “global PHARMA and Non-PHARMA Power Brands”. Reckitt Benckiser has 50+ Products including the following PHARMA Products: - Nurofen, Strepsils, Mucinex, Optrex and Suboxone. Initially I was brought on board to report to the Director of Data Governance to initially start on a project to assist in saving £10+ Million on Raw Materials purchased over 50+ Business Units. Due to on-going implementation problems with a SAP Go-Live Project in Nottingham (originally the over-the-counter drugs manufacturing business of Boots Healthcare International) I was asked to assisted in collecting accurate status information to report accurate stats / facts & figures to be reported to the Project Leadership Team (PLT). Reporting figures on a weekly basis and actually putting together some proper science and maths behind our reported numbers. Assisting some of the Super Users in Collecting and Transforming Data needed for a variety of different SAP Data Objects mostly around the QM areas. Here an SAP Data Migration Team was already established so offering a helping hand to Nottingham Super Users. Initially this project was based in Manchester but then my base was changed to Nottingham and being a flexible Consultant this was not a problem for me. Working within a Data Governance Team of four Team Members we have been putting in place the building blocks of Data Governance across the complete company. UCB (PHARMA) – Jan to September 2012 SAP Data Migration & Validation Cons.

Working for a PHARMA Company UCB who is “a global biopharma on severe diseases” helping long term suffers (e.g. Parkinson’s / RLS, Epilepsy etc.) which operate in 40 Countries and has had a turnover of € 3.2 billion (in 2010). Here I was hired via a SAP Consultancy who is already working with the End Client and tasked to assist them in their SAP Data Migration needs and challenges to bring on board Ireland and Germany to their new SAP Template Platform. Normal activities including Data Object Scoping (What Data Objects are In-Scope or Out of Scope), Preparing and Presenting Data Migration Mapping Workshops, Data Collection / Extraction, Data Transformation & Enrichment, Validation Before Loading, Cleansing and Quality Reporting, Trial Uploads; Final Upload and Go-Live and Cut-Over then Validation and Reconciliation after loading. Here I was working closely with the MDM Data Team to ensure the smallest amount of Good Quality Data was brought across to their existing SAP Implementation and Template. Following standard PHARMA GxP Best Practices. Creating and Executing Test Scripts using HPQC. Acting as a single SAP Data Migration & Cleansing & Cutover Consultant / Team Lead whilst also providing the ETL Activities and working closely with SAP Functional Consultants (5 Ireland and 5 Germany). Initially I concentrated on Customer and Vendor Master Data Objects. On this Project both the Legacy System the New System was SAP. Initially prepared and delivered the Data Workshops for Customers, Vendors and Materials before moving onto the next level of Data Objects. Extracting & Transforming Data (including Cleansing & Enriching Data) for Technical Upload Testing. Working late evenings and weekends as and when needed.

SAP Client Crucell (PHARMA) – Switzerland, 2011 SAP Data Migration & Validation

Working for a PHARMA Company Crucell who are big players in the vaccinations area, hired directly by the client whilst they were replacing Systems Integrators (IBM) and on boarding their new SI (Accenture). Helping Crucell before an Accenture replacement was found and I improved their GxP validation efforts by creating my "Validation after Loading" reports and methodology which I had previously put together on my previous Project (Sodexo). After the Data Migration Project I worked closely with the MDM Data Team Lead to save his department hundreds (if not thousands) of hours of inputting by automating the extraction of Excel Data Request Forms and inputting into SAP, initially this was a MS Access Proof of Concept before porting this to a VBA / Windows Scripting Host solution and creating a .HTA (HTML Application) file, this automation was validated by the local Pharma Computer Systems Validation Team lead to automate the inputting of Materials, PIRs and Vendors.

SAP Client Sodexo Manchester – UK, 2010 to 2011 SAP Data Migration Team Lead & Val. Cons.

Working for Sodexo I was tasked to assist them with a HR & Payroll Project. I successfully migrated 2200 Prison Officer Personal and Payroll information from a Legacy SAGE KCS System to SAP. Here the Validation (Evidence) was important so I put together a "Validation after Loading" Reporting System which really proved we had technically and successfully migrated / uploaded our intended data into SAP.

Consulting to Kerensen I was tasked to assist PHARMA Client MYLAN with their Belgium SAP Data Migration needs. Reporting to the SAP Consultancy Director and working closely with the Clients PHARMA Validation Officer. I was called in to help with "very late in the day" 4 weeks before Go-Live Data Migration Support assistance. ETL Work and Post Go-Live Support. Due to SAP Interface issues I created daily SQL Reports "Validation Reports" for an additional 5 weeks - whilst I worked on the next project (Sodexo)

SAP Consultancy CSI and Sulzer Pumps – UK, 2009 to 2010 SAP Data Migration UK Team Lead

Consulting to CSI I was tasked to assist Sulzer Pumps with their UK SAP Data Migration needs. Reporting to the UK SAP Programme Manager. I was brought on-board to quickly replace an existing consultant just a few months before a Go-Live. I managed a team of 3 staff (one internal and two Consulting Staff). I conducted UK Data Mapping Sessions and Collecting Data Transformation rules from the Business Users for our Team to produce repeatable ETL routines and create Red/Green Reports. Daily Reporting to USA and weekly reporting to Stakeholders. Time Zones: GMT & CET

SAP Client Nielsen – APEMIA Countries 2009 SAP Data Migration Cutover & Project Manager

Working for Nielsen I was tasked to assist them with their APIMEA (Asia Pacific, India and Middle East) Countries in migrating half a dozen Finance Data Objects to SAP. Reporting to the USA VP of SAP Finance Globalisation I was tasked to Project Manage the complete SAP FICO Data Migration, Cut-Over and complete Go-Live for 14 Countries to 20 new SAP Company Codes and migrating half a dozen Finance (FI & CO) Data Objects. I was working from home / remotely in Europe (CET time zone) and working Hong Kong (HKT) hours so my day began at 2am CET which is 9am HKT. Here I was acting as the bridge between the American Nielsen Project Sponsors in America Central & Eastern Standard Time (CST & EST) and working with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) who was their chosen Systems Integrator mostly working India Hours. This was for Nielsen was by far their biggest and most ambitious Go-Live to-date with migrations from many Legacy Systems. I Project Planned, Tracked and Pushed on a Daily Basis via Daily Conference Calls, Tracking against the Cutover Plan. This role was 100% hands off and 100% Project Management. Daily 200+ to 400+ emails because of 20+ Countries (yes too excessive!). The end result was a very successful go live. In Project Management Mode I simply turned Red Items and made them Green.

Here I assisted a Germany USD$340 Million turnover company in joining a UD$4 Billion turnover company and migrating them from Legacy System BPCS and BMS to SAP.
