Responsibilities:
Welding monitoring as per WPS
Allocation of WPS on drawings.
Witness of procedure qualification and welder qualification.
Welding Equipment (welding machines, baking and holding ovens quivers, and inspection tools) in suitable condition and calibrated as appropriate.
Maintaining records of calibration, inspection and testing Equipment.
Joint fit-up in accordance with WPS/Drawings, tack welders are to workmanship standard and to code.
Conducting welder Qualification test (WQT) as per welding procedure specification.
Identification of welders qualified for each WPS to be used. All welder qualification certification are valid.
Welding consumables to be used are as specified by the WPSs are being stored/controlled as specified by the QC procedures.
Preparation of daily Inspection report.
Weld face are free from defects, contamination and damage.
Ensure weather conditions are suitable for welding.
Preheat if (required) minimum temperature is in accordance with WPS.
Inter pass temperature is in accordance with WPS.
Welding parameters are in accordance with WPS.
Ensure inter-run cleaning to good workmanship standard.
Preparation for Daily Welding Report (DWR) and getting approval from clients.
Ensure welds are suitable for all NDT (profile, cleanness etc.)
Visually inspect welds and sentence in accordance with code and prepared daily welding reports.
NDT (RT, MT, and PT) and Interpretation of Radiography films and preparing of related reports as per NDE Plan.
Ensure the all NDT is complete and reports are available for records.
Arranging post weld heat treatment as per requirement.
Documentation of records are completed and collated as required.
Preparing line history sheet.
