CAREER EXPERIENCE

Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Amman, Jordan Sept 2013 – Aug 2017 Advanced Practical Projects

Designed IoT real-time vehicle tracking system using Raspberry pi 3 and Arduino with secure access using fingerprint for authentication purposes. The system employs Android application to show location requests using Google maps API. Location information stored in cloud server. Python programming language used in this project. The project sponsored by Zain Broadband Telecommunications Company.

Implemented small institution network, installed and configured routers, switches, workstations, and networked printers. Installed network applications software, configured email accounts and shared resources. Installed firewalls, IDS, IPS, other security tools. Provided assistance in software security testing and monitoring. Provided on-going technical support and services in this project. The project sponsored by Royal Jordanian Company.

Assembled Cat-5, Cross-Over and Roll-Over Network Cables, configured and Programmed CISCO Routers, Switches using Hyper-Terminal Application. Simulated different secure network topologies using NS-2/OMNET++ Network Simulation and Optimization Software. WALID MAHMOUD 226-***-**** ******@*****.***

University of Windsor, Windsor, Ontario Sept 2008 – June 2012 Academic Researcher

Programmed fast inversion algorithm using C/C++ Programming Languages for security and cryptographic applications based on elliptic curve cryptography (ECC). The optimal decomposition function (which decomposes the extension field degree) was also programmed using the above mentioned languages to accelerate the processing of the inversion algorithm.

Designed Direct-Sequence Ultra-Wideband (DS-UWB) transceiver. UWB pulses employed Differential Phase Shift Keying (DPSK) modulation for Multiple-Access (MA) with Differential- Demodulation. The transceiver programmed using Matlab IDE including the wireless multiple access channel affected by AWGN and multipath interference.

Programmed different Object-Oriented Network Applications using Java Programming language and different interactive web applications using Java Applets, JavaScript, CSS & HTML. Teaching, Administration, Research (PSUT University and University of Windsor)

Taught many engineering courses (Cisco Networking, advanced computer networks, digital logic design, embedded systems, computer architecture, computer and networks security, etc).

Administrative activities (Supervised capstone engineering design project, Academic supervisor, Member of department and college councils, Member of accreditation, recruitment & research committees).

Published technical research papers in the field of networking and wireless communications. ACADEMIC EDUCATION

PhD, Electrical Engineering (GPA:4.0/4.0) – Computer Networks & Cryptography June 2012 University of Windsor, Windsor, Ontario

Fast Finite Field Inversion Algorithm for ECC-based Cryptographic Applications via Reducing Modular Multiplications

MSc, Electrical Engineering (GPA:3.9/4.0) – Wireless Communications Sept 2007 University of Windsor, Windsor, Ontario

Designed IR-UWB for Multiple-access with Differential-detection Transceiver under Diverse Channel Effects

BSc, Computer Engineering (GPA:3.0/4.0) – Hardware & Software June 2004 University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario

Designed Sound-Activated-Light Circuit using PIC Microcontroller and Assembly Programming CERTIFICATION/TRAINING
