Dear Human Resource Manager,
I am currently attending graduate school at Frontier Nursing University to be educated as a Certified Nurse-Midwife. I plan to reach my required hours and take boards in early 2018. Our school requires a minimum of 675 clinical hours and also requires the following minimum number of experiences:
• 10 preconception care visits
• 30 new antepartum visits
• 140 return antepartum visits
• 40 labor management experiences
• 40 births (including 4 observations, at least 5 continuity clients, at least 5 without epidurals)
• 40 newborn assessments
• 20-breastfeeding supports visits
• 40 postpartum visits (2 hours to 14 days)
• 30 postpartum visits (2 to 8 weeks)
• 40 common health problems
• 30 family planning visits
• 35 non-postpartum gynecologic visits
• 15 premenopausal/postmenopausal visits
My clinical time has been spent between two preceptors; one, which is a WHNP and the other, which is a CNM. I have had an extensive six months of caring for a wide variety of gyn patients as well as antepartum and laboring women. My strengths include being organized, detail oriented, and patient satisfaction. My professional career as a registered nurse of twenty years has been spent as a childbirth educator, labor and delivery nurse, and lactation counselor. In addition to women’s health, my resume shows a well-rounded experience in other areas of nursing.
I look forward to being considered as a future CNM for your practice. I have attached a resume to give you a more complete picture of my educational and professional background. I greatly appreciate your time and look forward to discussing this possibility further by phone or by appointment.
Sincerely,
Chandra D Case BSN, RN.
