•Advanstar is a business to business publishing and trade show and event company with over 1000 employees and a current portfolio of 50 tradeshows, 5 publications and over 30 websites. The company was purchased by UBM in 2014.

•Hired in 1999 to head up the Recruiting function and was responsible for sourcing, interviewing, and placing approximately 400 employees annually. Promoted to Human Resources Manager in 2001.

•Partnered with senior management on performance, recruitment and employee relations challenges.

•Drove the annual performance and incentive planning and review process.

•Assisted in the development, implementation, facilitation, and evaluation of training and organization development initiatives, including conducting manager training on recruiting and on providing performance feedback.

•Worked closely with corporate HR on ADP HRIS system and organizational effectiveness initiatives.

•Facilitated new hire orientations and assisted in the revamping of the orientation and onboarding process.

•Cowles was a trade show and trade/consumer magazine company; owned by the Minneapolis Star -Tribune.

•Hired as HR Administrator and promoted to HR Manager in 1996.

•Performed full generalist duties for the life cycle of the employee from recruitment, onboarding, performance management, career planning, leave management, training to exit meetings.
