Dear Sirs,
I am delighted to write this letter of recommendation for Shelly Hager, R.N. I worked closely with Shelly, over a two month period, while providing go live and optimization support for Concord Hospital and Concord Hospital Medical Group, during the winter of 2017 – 2018. During that period, I had direct responsibility for support at multiple practices and overall direction, and supervision, of the optimization teams. During the initial go live activities, we had over 200 consultants, on site, supporting the hospital and ambulatory practices, as they migrated onto Cerner. After the end of the first month, we decided to retain 12 consultants to do initial optimization work. Based on her extremely high level of performance, Shelly was offered the opportunity to stay on and assist with optimization. She proved to do as superb a job at this, as she did during initial go live support.
I was particularly struck by three characteristics of Shelly: her expertise with Cerner (and, more generally, Information Technology), her work ethic, and her strength of character. With respect to expertise, Shelly has an excellent grasp of the capabilities of Cerner’s various clinical applications. As a result, she is able to provide outstanding support to both providers, and other clinicians (e.g., RNs, LPNs, MAs, etc.). Indeed, when I went to one of the clinics which Shelly had supported early during the go live, it was remarkable how far ahead of many other practices this clinic was. This was, in very large part, due to Shelly’s initial activities in supporting this clinic.
Shelly is an extremely hard worker, highly organized, and results driven. When asked to do something, there was 100% confidence that the job would get done right. Moreover, because she is so proactive, there was generally no need to even ask her – she would identify things that need to be attended to, and deal with them.
In both office and hospital settings, it can be challenging to deal with “cranky” providers. Shelly has the background, and strength of character, to be able to hold her ground (in a respectful way) while dealing with difficult situations and challenging providers.
In summary, I think that Shelly would be an outstanding asset to any team. Please do not hesitate to contact me, either by phone, or email, if you would like further details.
