Position Summary:
Served as an International Registered Nurse on a bridging program for 4 weeks inclusive of both theoretical and practical application of knowledge and skills specializing in inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs focusing on mobility, balance, upper and lower limb strength and function, ability to manage personal care, preparation for return to work, communication, pain management and continence or medication self-management.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess inpatient requiring rehabilitation services. Including patients recovering from stroke, orthopaedic knee and hip replacements and amputation, and patient suffering from debilitation from medical and surgical conditions. Perform continued post-operative care for patients with orthopaedic and cardiovascular procedures to include wound management. Pain to be monitored through assessment, appropriate and timely medication, followed by clear and concise documentation. Participate as a member of the rehabilitation interdisciplinary team by contributing information specific to the patient’s response to education, medication therapy, pain control, skin condition, bowel/bladder training, and discharge planning.
