Engineering manager & Senior software engineer 2014-2016*

• As the first member of the new TC engineering team redesigned the complicated tax credits process which was in place for Lacerte Tax and replaced it with simplified, reusable services enabling separation of concerns and removing the need to change the code year after year. Worked with multiple SCRUM teams to integrate the changes in their product.

• Reduced the yearly content acquisition effort and improved accuracy of the tax content for Intuit Tax Online and Lacerte products by 97% building a new Acquisition and Automation system which used a web crawler to download all the tax documents from the government websites.

• Improved performance of the work flow management application by redesigning the service and SQL database calls, by 90%

• Designed and developed the Continuous Services Release Management system with REST micro services, which solved the versioning and continuous delivery of smaller components of tax software to external and internal customers

Senior software engineer 2012-2014

• Developed and maintained the purchase order processing system which processed millions of purchase orders and managed the life cycle of the POs with failure and retry mechanisms built in.

• Improved code quality by introducing better automated testing with Spock framework and leading brown bag lunches learning Groovy and mocking frameworks.

• Key developer for the Service Transactions project which was hailed as the benchmark for web applications at Thrivent aiming at clean separation of UI and mid tier java services and at redesigning UI for a user friendly experience.
