Process Engineer
Work from a corporate perspective to develop and standardize new and existing equipment and processes. Responsible for improving process capability and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness). Responsible for developing, consolidating and maintaining standard approaches for tasks and techniques from a corporate perspective for all Cooper Tire’s materials processes. Work in tandem with Technical, Engineering Services, and the plants to ensure the right equipment is available to support new product introductions. Responsible for assisting in the review of equipment failures and analyzing equipment histories to identify trends in specific repetitive failures, to effectively identify root causes and address identified areas for improvement. Identify potential for cost reduction through improved equipment reliability and process capability by equipment and or process modifications that extended parts life, reduced labor cost, and other reliability-related improvement techniques. Work closely with manufacturing reliability, engineering services, plant engineering, equipment vendors and operations to coordinate the development of engineering solutions to repetitive equipment failures while improving costs and reliability. Champion the transfer and implementation of best practices across the manufacturing organization in an effort to maintain standardization and improve equipment and process performance. Assist in the development and standardization for new construction and equipment purchases.

Resident Engineer, November 2010
Lead minor (< $1M) and major projects (> $1M) at the division including new model launches (Kenmore, Kitchen Aid, Maytag, Whirlpool, Ikea) and cost and quality improvements. Facilitate MOB work on tooling and kick-off new tools for capacity and model line launches. Direct all steps of the C2C (Customer to Customer) process for launches and improvements at the division including idea selection, concept evaluation and selection, design reviews, design for robust assembly, producability reviews, business tollgates, safe launch and post launch improvements. Interact with all involved in the C2C process including product engineering, marketing, suppliers, process engineering, supply chain, and customers including external trade partners. Lead PPAP submissions and approvals for the division and direct the work of the PPAP and trial coordinator and build technicians.

Responsible for day to day quality systems, design and project reviews for model lines and components, preparing quality documentation and FPA/PPAP for new and existing components, WQMS for plastics department, problem solving and working with internal and external customers to resolve issues and make cost and quality improvements. Direct hourly quality analysts in daily work and long term quality solutions. Maintain gauging and daily measurement checks, provide reporting and feedback on department metrics, and support process engineers with new and existing processes, projects, and model line launches.
