Project tasks encompassed planning, estimating, project meetings, completing RDD (Report Design Document) and TDD (Technical Design Document), communicating health statuses to management, reporting mockup, UAT, and post mortem analysis. I was involved with the developers on system design due to my 20+ years of programming, database modeling, and front-end design skills. Other duties included attending local user conferences, tool strategizing, tool proof of concept, and WebFocus Finance Group Admin duties. Projects included the use of the following tools and languages; SQL Server, Teradata, HANA, WebFocus, Tableau, SAP, FOCUS mainframe, Platinum mainframe, JavaScript, JQuery, .NET, HTML, SharePoint, PowerPoint, VISIO, and Excel.

Business Analyst Manager

Target Headquarters Minneapolis, MN CoE Financial Ops Dept. 2008-2014

Performed Business Analyst responsibilities like collecting requirements, defining fields and tables, consistent communications to stakeholders, progress check in meetings, publishing meeting notes, creating documentation and UAT. Managed Finance technical Web intranet and internet, mainframe and WebFocus projects, as well as business Intelligence reporting projects. Lead Steering committee with Transportation executives. Partnered directly with developers on system design, weekly progress meetings, solutions, brain storming sessions, in addition to planning and managing all project communications to clients and senior management. Other duties included application review for upgrade and sunset, networking at internal user meetings, creating proposals for tool strategy, tool approval, and department organizational changes. For large project development I worked directly with our IT project managers and DBA’s.

Key projects:

Created solution and led the project to create a SQL server reporting database to store SAP data. This solution was a work around to the vanilla package inefficient tools, and eliminated SAP BEx manual reporting. Data was extracted using SAP Winshulttle Query, transferred with SSIS, and reports created with WebFocus. Key Financial reports could not be created without this solution.

Managed transportation finance payment project to create seven databases and frontend systems for different transportation modes. Front end development was complex and requiring extensive coding to meet client requirements. The benefits were the disabling of current mainframe jobs and providing an efficient and user friendly system.

Proposed and received management approval to purchase SSIS, and SSIS Server to replace Excel Macro FTP code.
