Experience and residency:
1.Internship (House officer): -
Intern at Ain Shams university hospitals from 1st of March 2007 to 29th of February 2008March 2007- Feb. 2008 (Internship year)
Ain Shams University Hospital
General Medical Rotation:
Internal Medicine
General Surgery
Pediatrics
Obstetrics & Gynecology
Anesthesia & Emergency Medicine
Neurology psychiatric department
I feel that six months rotation at Ain Shams University Hospital gave me an excellent grounding in general medicine. In particular the emergency room and on call duties were very demanding. When on call I was the principal doctor involved in assessing and initiating treatment of acute medical admissions with an average “take” of 30-35 patients per day. I encountered a broad range of medical conditions and became confident with the management of medical emergencies. I also had frequent experience in acting as member of the cardiac arrest team, and performing supervised outpatient surgical procedures like stitching and tapping of ascites.
2.Visitor Resident:-
Ain Shams University Hospitals from 6th of August 2008 – 5th of October 2010.
Radiology department
The department of Radiology in Ain Shams University Hospital is one of the grand and expanding departments in the hospital. I have spent this valuable training and scientifically profitable period under the supervision of professors and members of teaching staff of the department. I also gained an insight into some interventional radiology procedures, and had the opportunity to perform minor procedures like CT and US guided biopsy and aspiration under supervision of the members of the teaching staff.
General Rotation:
Conventional Radiology
oX-Ray
oBarium Studies
oI.V.P (I.V.U)
oHysterosalpingography
Ultrasonography & Doppler examination
C.T.
MRI.
Nuclear Medicine
Interventional Radiology (with different procedures from biopsies & drainages, such as liver interventional procedure as Radiofrequency& chemoembolization, nephrology procedures as nephrostomy and drainage).
3.Resident:
Al Zaitoun specialized hospital which follows specialized medical centers- ministry of health from 29th of September 2009 to 18th of May 2010.
4.Specialist at Wadi-el Neel Hospital
October 2013- till October 2014
Training courses & Conferences:
o2nd Arab Radiology Congress, which was held at Bibliotheca Alex from 21st to 24th of April 2009.
oBasic ultrasound in obstetrics & gynecology which was held in National Training Institute which follows ministry of health from 30th of May to 1st of June 2009.
oArterial & venous color duplex of extremities which was held in National Training Institute which follows ministry of health from 28th of June to 1st of July 2009.
oUltra sound of small parts which was held in National Training Institute which follows ministry of health from 11th to 15th of July 2009.
oInterventional procedures in liver diseases (Hepatocellular Carcinoma) which was held in interventional unit at Ain Shams University Hospital from 1st to 3rd of November 2009.
o2D obstetric, 2D Gynecology, Doppler US, 3D\4D US which was held at special care center of fetus in obstetrics and gynecology Hospital of Ain Shams University from 14th to 18th of November 2009.
oApplied radiology physics refreshing course, which was organized by scientific society of radiology (EGYPT) which was held in National Training Institute which follows ministry of health from 7th to 11th of November 2010.
oMember of radiology society of north America (RSNA) since 2014
RESEARCH / ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES:-
Master degree in Radiology in November 2010, the thesis submitted was about the Role of Drug Eluting Beads In Chemoembolization of Hepatocellular Carcinoma. I audited the advantage of using it in sustained release of chemotherapeutic agent over a long period of time, which contrasts with the more rapid release of the agents from the lipidol solution in standard TACE therapy.
MD degree in Radiology in April 2015, the thesis submitted was about the Role of MR Diffusion weighted image (DWI) in diagnosis of hepatic focal lesions. I audited the advantage of using it for detection and differentiation of benign and malignant lesions. Also it is promising in imaging for dissemination (i.e. staging) in oncological patients before treatment and for follow up after treatment of liver tumors.
Practical skills:-
I have performed most of diagnostic radiological procedures and I am familiar with outpatient interventional radiological guided procedures.
I have attained and maintained my skills in the following:
-Venous cannulation
-Urinary catheterization.
-Urological studies (I.V.P, ascending cystography, and retrograde pyelography).
-Hysterosalpingography.
-Barium examinations (swallow, meal, follow through, and enema).
-Fistulogram.
-Conventional ultrasonography (Abdomen, pelvis & neck).
-Doppler ultrasound (Portal, renal, carotid & extremities).
-Assessment and follow up of cases subjected to liver and renal transplantations.
-Obstetric ultrasound.
-Computed Tomography examinations (Brain, Chest, Abdomen and Pelvis).
-CT pulmonary angiography.
-MRI brain and spine.
Computer Skills:-
I regularly use computer in home and work, and I am confident in the use of Windows XP, Vista and windows 8. Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. I spend 2-3 hours daily surfing the World Wide Web.
