Regional Librarian Washington, DC JAN2017-Present
The experience from my continued tenure at Strayer University saw the rise of my knowledge and learning in the fields of corporate leadership, governance and responsibility. Between the involved metrics of measuring my own and my team performance, and the education I received while at Strayer University as a student, has combined to provide a superior background in corporate-side functionality. As a result of having started as a part-time Learning Resource Center Assistant and earning the position of Regional Librarian (supervising 12 University Libraries in Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland) I was exposed to federal and state regulations, human resources best practices as well as nuanced and fluid leadership strategies and tactics.

Lead Salesman
During my time as a lead automobile salesman I was exposed to all matters of interpersonal situations ranging from person-to-person introspection and mutual respect (trust building) to conflict resolution both with customers and co-workers. I further learned the value, here, of honest and directed communication to best enhance the team effort and meet the mission objectives (in our case, goals). I further learned such secondary intricacies as attention to specific detail and inventory management and posturing.

Airborne Crypto-Logic Linguist (A1C)
My time in the United States Air Force was a spectacular adventure in trial-by-fire leadership, as I held a leadership role, literally, from day one as my Boot Camp Flight’s Dorm Chief. From there I went on to be a successful class leader in all of my follow-on training evolutions and left the service as an Airman First Class. It was here that I learned how not to rely on given authority but on the power of my convictions, as a leader, to demonstrate that each person on my team has that same power within them to be great.
