Rater Data mast is a project to gather data from more than 100 raters. With each rater having different parameters and open for un-validated data entry. Data-stage, ETL tool is put in use to make the data meaningful and consistent for Actuary reporting.
Role / Responsibilities

Writing SAS Programs to fetch raw-data from Raters.
Creating DataStage Jobs for Transforming the data
Discussing the final reporting needs of the client

Project Description:
GE has businesses spread to many countries and different countries have different tax structure. Large numbers of regulatory reports are prepared for that called Tax reports. Most of these reports being highly technical and hence cumbersome to change were run on old excel based system. Project was to transform the complete tax reporting structure and automate the reporting process.
This project included the update of existing data warehouse and fetching data from it model and creating a report based on that.
Role / Responsibilities

Studying the source data for the reporting needs
Identying the measures and dimentions for the data
Creating the datastage jobs to fetch the data from systems
Creating data transformation jobs to
Daily meetings with client and understanding the benefits of creating these reports
Understanding international tax laws and formulas

Identifying the missing data source and including them in the data-warehouse
Creating UAT test cases
Engaging Development team and making them understand each and every functionality of the report

GE corporate is where various taxes like Sales and User Tax and Value added taxed corded. They have a terabyte size of Data warehouse that is fed monthly with all tax related data.
I use to analyze the source system for reporting needs and make fields available to Data warehouse for reporting. I use to data mining to make help out the meaningful also used to crate reports on reporting tool Called Business Objects and maintain the overall Tax reporting system
