Duties and Responsibilities: Coach candidates completing the W&R SETA funded by Shoprite-Checkers Development Trust (NQF2) skills programme, covering SAQA US243809 and US258155:
Provide mentoring/coaching duties to learners assigned at identified workplaces/stores:
oMotivate, encourage and provide learner support in the gathering of evidence whilst in the store.
oMake resources available to complete assignments.
oIdentify barriers to learning and facilitate the removing of these barriers.
oAssist in the management of any learner at risk behaviour.
oTransfer knowledge and skill through coaching.
oHave at least 5 contact sessions with each learner at the store
oAdvise Regional Project Manager of learner absenteeism.
See the Store Manager (SM) first upon entry to store, and advise the SM of Coaching plan:
oLiaise with stores management on the learners’ experimental development
oExplain Learner conduct and commitment on assigned experiential duties
oLearner attendance and punctuality
oStores capacity to accommodate/employ candidates at the end of the experiential exercise
Compile and submit comprehensive monthly report to the principal provider, detailing:
oLearner progress (Competent/Not Yet Competent)
oChallenges experienced (Attendance)
oRemedial assistance provided to learners requiring such
oGeneral (Drop outs/Success stories)
