Baptist Medical Center - San Antonio, TX May 2008 – October 2017 At BMC I am responsible for coding all of the outpatient Wound Clinic charts. I apply proper diagnosis codes per the physician's dictation and authorize the final charges to be submitted to insurance for payment. I also ensure that nurses provide all accurate documentation of procedures that are ordered and are performed to the according order. I also ensure that they charge for the proper procedures following the Medicare/Medicaid guidelines and ensure that we capture as many charges possible for our center. I also provide education to nurses, LVN's, unit secretaries and Hyperbaric technicians on any changes to ICD 10's and procedures that may be charged together and the proper way to document them. I am also responsible for discharging patients and ensuring that all paper documentation is stored according to HIPPAA regulations and ensuring patients sign all proper documentation to release information. I opened the store for business daily, counting all money and making bank deposits and making change orders as the daily business projection accounted for. I did daily cigarette inventory counts. I would place biweekly product supply orders. Order fuel refills as needed. Conducted 3 daily price surveys with competitiors and ensured our price was adjusted accordingly. Did all interview, hire, training and terminating as needed of employees. I also provided employees with annual merit increases. Within my five years at my location I grew my store to be number two from number 13 in the San Antonio market.
