ABENGOA, Chesterfield, Missouri Jul 2015 – Dec 2015 Lead Process Engineer

Led Process design and detailed engineering of Fulcrum GTL project. This refinery is designed to convert more than 200,000 tons of Municipal Solid Wastes from the local landfill to FT synthetic crude that will be upgraded to more than 10 million gallons of jet fuel per year. Facility is located in the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center, Storey County, Nevada, which is approximately 20 miles east of Reno, NV.

Reviewed and checked following Process Engineering deliverables: equipment specifications, bids technical evaluation and recommendation, piping specifications, BFDs, PFDs, UFDs, Material & Energy balance, P&IDs, Hydraulic Calculations, Relief Valve, Line, and Pump Sizing.

Assisted with training other engineers by providing instruction on new technologies and/or a specialization. Effectively communicated technical solutions and concepts to Management. Ensured effective communications among other engineering disciplines. Used computer modeling and simulations software Aspen PLUS® to design and evaluate processes. Designed and evaluated emergency relief systems such as PSVs, rupture disks, and venting systems for new and existing plants. Applying FEL, FEE, and FEED processes to optimize projects. Using computer modeling and simulations software Aspen HYSYS® and HTRI® to design and evaluate processes and equipment. Ensuring that all aspects of an operation or process meet specified regulations. Greenhouse gas emissions inventory and related calculations for refinery projects. Preparing and maintaining safety and environmental aspects, providing input to staff annual performance review, attending HAZOP/LOPA studies. Reviewed equipment and instrumentation specifications to ensure equipment and materials are produced and installed as per OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ASME, API, etc., and company's engineering standards and specifications. It can manufacture 8 MGY of cellulosic ethanol under the new Renewable Fuel Standard and provide renewable power for 1400 homes in the area; 4. 2010 – 100 MGY of fuel ethanol molecular sieve dehydration Biorefinery set up by EthylChem Ltd. at the Pointe-a-Pierre refinery, Trinidad & Tobago;

5. 2009 – Biorefinery of ABENGOA Bioenergy of Illinois, LLC utilizes technology licensed by Vogelbusch USA, including the Vogelbusch MulticontTM continuous fermentation process, to produce 88MGY of fuel ethanol and approximately 551.2MlbY of DDGS. The facility is located in Madison, IL;
