Senior Manager: Digital Workplace 07/2017 – 10/2017

Reported to the Director of End User Services to address the digital transformation that is developing at organizations. Focused on the user and the technologies that in turn allows success at work, ensuring the right tools are available to complete the job anywhere and anytime.

Developed the newly established Digital Workplace team. Worked with the team to create the vision, mission, and strategy that unified the team which aligned with the Chief Officer of Corporate Communications.

Identified the strengths of the Digital Workplace team to create the communication and governance plans.

Senior Manager: Enterprise Solutions 03/2016 – 06/2017

Reported to the Director of Infrastructure to develop processes and structure for an Enterprise Solutions team of five architects that leveraged a consultation approach with stakeholders to deliver the right solution and reduce redundancies.

Managed the project delivery for a key cost saving effort that included moving out of a managed services data center to an internally supported data center.

Manager: Network, Unix, Identity 10/2015 – 03/2016

Reported to the Director of Infrastructure and managed a team of four engineers whose responsibilities were the network, Unix, and Identity services to ensure internal and external customer solutions; met service level objectives and contractual agreements.

Provided the talent acquisition process of selecting and interviewing an additional network resource.

Delivered a “zero impact” to customers during a significant data center migration project by aligning with the customer and planning and coordinating HAVI’s tasks.

Manager: Vendor Management, Change Management 12/2012 – 10/2015

Reported to the Director of Operations to establish a vendor management office in order to provide the expertise and training to the managers in IT who was responsible for vendor relations.

Established a vendor management office for IT vendors, creating processes to ensure that the company received the most out of the vendor relationships and greatest contractual value.

Leveraged ITIL certification to create a change management program that was later used to model the ITSM tool implementation.

IT Senior Project Manager

Managed a variety of business, infrastructure, and security projects requiring interaction with several IT teams and external vendors.

Interacted with all IT levels and teams, to build out project plans that were delivered on time and within budget while achieving improvements in process.

Upgraded mainframe from 32-bit platform to 64-bit ZOS v1.9 including upgrades to the transaction and database management applications. Managed 5 deployment phases over 2 years with 30+ team members within $1.4M budget.

oResulted in $30K savings annually through new licensing model associated with newer software.

oCreated 500 new test cases to support this project and future efforts.

oDelivered additional $80K in savings by identifying and retiring limited use applications.

Eliminated 120 physical Wintel servers by building a robust virtual server environment for minimal investment, migrating these servers to VMware in 8 months.

o$40K under budget – 11% within budget by controlling labor costs by keeping a focus on scope and meeting frequently with key members of the team.

oOver $110K annual cost savings through reduced power and coolant.

oOver $300K in cost avoidance through reuse of physical servers and licenses.

Protective Life (Formerly Zurich Life), Elgin, IL 04/2000 – 06/2007

Evolved from network engineer to team lead to technical project manager. Liaised with variety of technical and business departments, managing several projects concurrently with durations of up to one year. Project teams ranged from 5 to 20 resources.

Managed build of new network including business partner connections to a new data center. Migrated 100+servers to new data center and moved 750+ business users and call center users into the new facility.

Successfully moved telecom, network, server and desktop technologies to new facility for 300 users as part of company sale. Consisted of 5 project areas, each with 5-10 members including vendors and remote resources. Facilitated successful pilot before migrating all call center users and services over a single weekend.

Managed project to deploy new versions of applications with a new packaging tool. Included testing, packaging and deployment to clients.
