• Rienet worked for IBM South Africa as a Systems Engineer, and again as a consultant in 1996/1997 where she supported many products and projects in the Mainframe Environment. She was originally appointed to be the Pretoria CICS branch specialist. She also coded CICS Macro Level code.

• Systems programming (mainframe) support to all customers in South Africa (including problem support)

• Install and customize numerous mainframe products using SMP/E.

• Run pilot DB2 projects at customer sites, including connection between SAS and DB2. Also use SQL.

• Design and code and test IBM mainframe network system according to Government's networking protocol. This was an important project. • Develop ‘n program to calculate the heredity of the Dohne Marino Sheep. Work with Professor Geerthsen, Head of Department of Genetics, University of Pretoria, Pretoria, South Africa.

• 2 Merit Awards – University of Pretoria

• Analysis, Design, Code and Test Mainframe Network system according to Government Network Standard Protocol.

• After attending an IBM MQ for z/OS User group in the UK (self-paid ) she started one at MCI/Worldcom. Such a group allowed her to interact very well with the customer/users and the MQ “DBA’s”. (At that point of time MCI used to have one of the largest mainframe systems in the world).

• Form an MQ User Group within her first month at SANLAM (BCX - South Africa), to provide better serves and to interact with customer/users. This was so successful, she also started a CICS User Group.

• Start and coordinate the first MQ National Team in EDS where they supported major companies across the Unites States and the world.

Rienet and Security

Rienet has a passion for security and the privacy of data. In 2005 she posted a question to Admiral Timothy Keating, USA Navy and then commander of NORAD and Northern Command, on which he took action before he became the commander of the Pacific Fleet.
