I was able to take an organization that had financial deficits and secure funding of $100,000 for use over the next three year period.

My responsibilities included coordinating and administering all supported and competitive placements as well as work services for the regions assigned. The work assignments could be individuals and/or work group teams. My duties included training, supervising, and managing the staff in conduct and performance,budgeting, financials, and the general administration of the department. In addition, I led the introduction of our organization to the community by marketing our products and placing individuals in employment settings. I was elected to this position in April 1997, and re-elected three times. Each election was for a four-year term, and five of the 16 years that I was commissioned I served as mayor of this city. During my time of service I was instrumental in the implementation of the following projects:
1) Building of Aquatics and Sports Complexes which were completed on time and under budget 2) Building of new City Library
3) Replacing of city property tax with sales tax
4) Tunneling of utilities under interstate to facilitate hundreds of acres of commercial growth 5) Revitalization of Downtown Area including major street enhancements ASSOCIATIONS/ACTIVITIES
