• Trained on material handling processes to reduce shipping time.
• Applied Newsvendor model to address queueing and variable demand problems.
• Planned Kaizen event on eliminating unnecessary transportation for the raw materials. Intern, Logistics Liner Department in COSCO Co., LTD, Dalian, China 06/2014--08/2014
• Managed shipment schedules to maximize productivity and cut cost.
• Communicated with warehouses and customers regarding outgoing orders and assigned shipments to carriers through SAP.
• Prepared documents for shipment and maintained accurate stock records and schedules. Projects
MFG 599, Design for Six Sigma, University of Michigan 01/2017 05/2017 This Project used Minitab and different DFSS methodologies to increase customer satisfaction rate by improve the product functionality.
• Built VOC-CTS and QFD Matrix from Satisfaction Survey to demonstrate the potential improvements.
• Analysed the best alternative design concepts in Pugh Matrix and built final Hybrid Design Concept. IOE 425, Lean Manufacturing and Service Strategies, University of Michigan 10/2016--01/2017 This project used Visual Stream Maps to help students develop lean thinking mindset and understand lean manufacturing.
• Determined the Eight Wastes among the process and built up the Current and Future State Map to eliminate the wastes.
• Established a 5S methodology in Action Plan to reduce the variability and transportation waste by 40% and the total lead time by 64%.
IOE 425, Lean Manufacturing and Service Strategies, University of Michigan 10/2016--01/2017 This project used different strategies to help the company develop a kaizen plan for the future.
• Established the A3 Plan, SIPOC, CTQ tree, Cause and Effect Diagram to eliminate the problem.
• Provided recommendations and a follow-up plans for the company to continue future improvement under $20,000 budget.
• Held a Kaizen Event with the staff and leadership to continue future improvement. CAPSIM Business Simulation, Pennsylvania State University 08/2015--12/2015 The project simulates a real business situation where business owners have to make decisions within five modules including R&D, production, marketing, finance, and human resource to maximize the profits.
• Forecasted the future market share based on the projected increase in demand, competitors' marketing budget, pricing, production capacity, and automation level.
• Calculated the optimal production level given forecasted market share and unit labor cost.
• Purchased capacity and automation to decrease labor cost and increase profit margin. Littlefield Production Simulation, Pennsylvania State University 08/2014--12/2014 The project simulates a production plant with multiple SKUs where students have to conduct quantitative analysis to operate on optimal inventory/production level while minimizing fixed cost.
• Calculated bottleneck rate, EOQ, ROP, and optimal number of machines base on real-time operation data.
• Made buy/sell decisions based on observed changes in bottleneck rate and ROP. Additional Information
