Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology Southern Polytechnic State University, Marietta GA EXPERIENCE
Maintenance Engineer Inalfa Roof System, Acworth, GA Sept 2017- Present
Troubleshoots ABB Robot, controllogix and compactlogix system failures, maintains existing control systems.
Plans, assigns and ensures compliance to scheduled equipment maintenance to maintain equipment reliability and uptime.
Supports automation technicians by responding to manufacturing equipment breakdowns, problem diagnosis and equipment repairs.
Supervises automation technicians
Monitors equipment performance and collects data and maintain statistical records for data driven problem solving.
Creates maintenance procedures and trains auto technicians. Process Engineer Shaw Industries Plant HW, South Pittsburg, TN Mar 2015- Sept 2017
As a rough saw, machining and automated distressing process engineer. I worked with plant leadership, floor associates and other stakeholders to ensure the processes were smooth and productivity goals were met without compromising the safety of associates.
I supported associates and facilitated training to improve performance. During and after plant HW’s new equipment commissioning and start up. I worked alongside the associates giving them support and training required to be fully functional, productive and self-directed.
I initiated and implemented a broad range of process engineering projects which included the installation of in feed robot load cells to help stop bottom boards loading, Mereen Johnson blade Load monitoring system to help detect when blades are dull, double board detection rollers to stop double boards from entering the sanders and tool life tracking.
I led an equipment improvement team whose goal was to drive continuous improvement. As a team we initiated and implemented numerous projects that helped reduce equipment downtime and increase uptime and productivity.
I worked with vendors during equipment commissioning to resolve program, machinery and design issues that hindered proper functioning of the equipment.
I initiated and managed process and plant wide capital projects which included the installation of platforms and ladders to allow easy and faster bag houses accessibility at a cost of $46,407, installation of pedestrian barriers for increased safety of the associates at a cost of $99,070, rough saw transfer conveyors at a cost of $106,000 and currently working on security system project at a cost of $64,541.
Created and maintained manufacturing processes and documentation including Job procedures and troubleshooting guidelines.
Operations Management Trainee Shaw Industries Plant LM, Ringgold, GA Aug 2014 – Mar2015
Determined a safer way to ergonomically handle and place barrels in fire cabinets and procured a barrel handler at a cost of $5,982. I implemented a better way to remove and collect dust from overhead duct system and purchased two antistatic vacuum cleaners. This helped eliminate safety risks associated with explosive dust build up on overhead systems.
Worked with vendors during installation of Omron gate safety switches and process lines controller upgrade from Step 5 to Step7 Siemen controllers. Wrote new operational procedures. These projects resulted to reduced changeovers time, supportable step7 controls which allowed integration with other Shaw systems possible.
Worked on yield improvement project. I initiated and implemented a process that enabled the associates to easily remove and replace damaged and off quality pads on boards. This helped reduce B grade products and increase A grade products.
Maintenance Department Coop Shaw Industries Plant WE, Dalton, GeorgiaJan2014 – May 2014
Created layout drawings and schematics using AutoCAD and worked closely with Sr. Automation engineer and plant master electricians to install and design inline shear control panel.
Worked with master electricians to repair, reprogram and document stretch wrapper control system. This project involved rewiring, troubleshooting, making changes in the program using SLC500 and updating the drawings.
Wrote and documented calibration procedures for Gibo machine’s Lucifer air valves and Emerson latex flow meter.
Determined bill of material requirements and calculated circuit breaker, contactors, soft starters and variable frequency drives sizing for the inline shear project. Maintenance Department Coop Shaw Industries Plant DJ, Dalton, Georgia May 2013 – Aug 2013
Worked alongside maintenance associates during regular preventative maintenance to capture and document maintenance procedures. These procedures were used by the maintenance department as a guide when doing repairs or performing preventative maintenance.
Worked alongside electricians and mechanics when working on projects, repairing equipment and performing preventative maintenance.
Worked with electricians during an upgrading of the structuring machine. Using the wiring diagrams I worked with electricians to wire components in the new control panel.
Performed time studies on the roll up process. Based on the data I collected I determined and recommended the need to increase the capacity of the accumulator to help speed up the roll up process.
Process Engineering Coop Shaw Industries Plant 15, Cartersville, Georgia Aug 2012 – Dec2012
Monitored process, collected downtime data and conducted time studies to help improve process.
Improved defect tracking system in tile cutting process by procuring a Zebra label printer and label materials. These labels were applied on the back of defective carpet and used by RFID reader to identify and isolate defects from grade A products.
Worked alongside the mechanics during troubleshooting and correcting machine issues to improve functionality.
Created AutoCAD drawings to identify walkways and super cutter accumulator roll set up SKILLS
