Employment details

House officer (April 2008- May 2009)

Did my internship in Abia state university teaching hospital where I passed through the different departments which include obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, public health, internal medicine, public health and surgery. Completed the internship after 12 months of active learning.

Youth cooper (July 2009 - July 2010)

Internship in ministry of health. It was a public health setting. This involved registration of new hospitals and primary health care centres in Rivers State, Nigeria. Issuing licence to practise for the various hospitals and health centres. Monitoring and evaluation of the quality of health centres, carrying out administrative duties to ensure better management and use of primary health care services. I provided as much technical support as possible at the Government level. I worked as a team. Completed it after 12 months.

Medical officer (Nov 2010-June 2011)

Worked in Apollo clinic. I assisted in proceedures such as IVF and IUI. I supervised immunisation of babies according to NPI schedule. I also worked in internal medicine, paediatrics and emergency departments.

Medical Officer (June 2011-feb 2012)

Worked in St Micheals hospital, Port Harcourt. This was a general medical set up. Supervising routine immunisation according to NPI schedule. Training of staff on immunisation. I also worked as a medical officer in internal medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, surgery and paediatrics departments.

Head of health services (Nov 2011-Feb 2012).

Worked in wetland health services company in Nigeria as the head of medical services. I was authorising doctors in different hospitals to treat patients with authorisation codes. I was actively involved in assessing medical claims. Worked in line with the National health insurance scheme. I developed network of contacts from different agencies which include NGO and international agencies.

Medical officer (Jan 2014- Feb2016)

Worked as a medical officer in Delta Hospital. Attending to patients mostly in the opthamology department. I performed minor eye surgeries and assisted in major eye surgeres. I also worked in the ENT department. I was actively involved in tutoring the Optometrist interns and supervision of more than 10 staff as well.

Officer Monitoring and evaluation / Research Assistant in Society for family health (Feb 2014 - Feb 2015).

Training community extension workers on integrated children case management. I was also actively involved in monitoring and evaluation. Did research on childhood illness such as chronic and Acute diarrhoea cases. I was actively involved in collecting data and analysing it with use of SPSS, STATA and Epi info.

Technical aids corps volunteer (Feb 2016- Aug 2016)

I worked in kiziguro hospital Rwanda on a contract. I worked as a medical officer rotating in the various departments- internal medicine, paediatrics, public health and emergency departments. Also worked in infectious disease department. I have seen and managed several tropical rare cases which include severe malaria, Hyatid disease, Tropical splenomegaly, Elephantiasis, schistosomiasis etc.

Technical aid corps volunteer(sep 2016-present).

I am presently working in Kabutare Hospital Rwanda on a contract. I work in different departments which include paediatrics, Neonatology, Emergency, Infectious disease, ICU and internal medicine. I am also actively involved in tutoring groups of medical students from Rwanda, Canada and Belgium.

Qualifications.

World Bank (Oct 2014-Nov2014)

Certificate in basics of Health Economics cohort. Modules learnt include efficiency and equity, market supply and demand, health financing.

University of Bedfordshire United Kingdom (Feb 2012-Feb 2013) (Msc Public health)

Masters in public health with a commendation. Modules learnt include public health protection, epidemiology, health inequalities, systematic research,quantitative and quantitative research methods, public health intelligence, ethical and legal issues, public health commissioning, principle and policies of public health and evidence based public health.

Abia state university Nigeria (Dec 2000-Dec 2007) (MBBS)

Medicine and Surgery. Modules learnt include Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry Medicine, Surgery, pharmacology, pathology, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, and public health.

Ninlan demonstration secondary school (NECO)

Studied 10 subjects including English and mathematics. Have proficiency in English language, french and local languages as well (igbo).

Computer skills

Experience and knowledge of computer skills and techniques. Have a typing speed of 60 w/pm. Have a relevant knowledge of microsoft word, excel, power point, analysis using epi info, stata and SPSS.

Medical Skills

Have skills in all the departments, public health, internal medicine, pharmacology, pathology, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and accident and emergency, ICU..
