Professional Objective

As a nurse practitioner, the field is wide and experience are plentiful. While I have had the good fortune of a variety of experiences in the field, I have found that wound care with a vascular specialty has been the most rewarding for me. As I am looking to expand my practice to new frontiers, I find that I desire to take on more responsibility and learn new skills in caring for patients.

My current expertise is primarily in wound care which involves diagnosis, treatment and procedural intervention of wounds. These include venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, lymphatic ulcers, pressure ulcers, PAD ulceration and many other wound types. As vascular concerns are often a major precipitating cause of this, I have also had the opportunity to become well versed in various types of peripheral vascular diseases, the causes of such, and treatments, which I currently see and treat daily.

I currently have about 2 years’ experience in sclerotherapy injection with and without ultrasound guidance for care of venous insufficiency, as well as cosmetic application. I would like to expand my skills in vascular care and treatment procedures to include not only sclerotherapy, but also training and experience in RFA and more recent vena-seal type procedures.

Future goals would include not only expansion of my current skills and knowledge, as well as acquisition of new knowledge related to wound and vascular fields. In the future I plan to acquire certifications to validate my expertise and am looking for opportunity where this is valued and embraced, as well as utilized to benefit not only the practice environment, but myself as a professional.
