WCS is the Worker Compensation System for Internal and External users for the claim processing and online submission of claim request. WCS application will be a web based application, accessible to users within the DOES network and users outside the network. The internal user list is as per the existing DOES users maintained in the Active Directory. Whereas, the external users, needs to register themselves first with the WCS application. The registered external users, including the Attorneys, Insurance Carriers, Self-Insured Employers, Third Party Administrators and Employers would then be able to submit forms online.
WCS application will share the same database currently being maintained for CORE application. In order to meet user requirements, the WCS application will add/modify to/the schema of CORE application when and where required. Thus ensuring, any modifications done to the master data, using CORE, will be available to the WCS application users at the same time.
Further, WCS application will make use of the existing FileNet Content Management Server to store and retrieve documents. FileNet CS, comes with an enrich feature of indexing and versioning, thus different version of the same document will be maintained in FileNet. WCS application will always be retrieve the latest version of the document. Though, the administrator of FileNet will be able to retrieve the older versions of the document, but retrieval of older versions of the document from FileNet will not be in scope of WCS application.
