CAREER OBJECTIVES
To perform inspection, maintenance and repairs on heavy duty vehicles.
To conduct regular preventative maintenance on service vehicles, including tire rotation and oil changes.
To maintain parts inventory and cleanliness in the workshop.
To perform diesel engines, transmissions, brake system, electrical troubleshooting, steering and cooling system repairs.
To repair components that make engine operate efficiently.
To repair electronics such as fuel regulators.
To Repair emissions control system.
To repair timing systems.
To collaborate with repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs.
To be able to correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts or systems such as power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches and traction units.
To be able to verify vehicle performances by conducting test drives; adjusting control units and systems.
To keep shop equipments operating by following operating instructions and performing preventive maintenance.
To determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn or damaged parts.
