Over twenty years of experience with six years in the offshore industry and fifteen years of contract engineering work in a wide range of industries including ASME shops, automotive, manufactures, heavy equipment manufactures, nuclear power plants and chemical plants. Local AWS Section Chairman, have worked with schools & colleges establishing welder-training programs. Have worked with a wide range of metals including Aluminum, low Alloy and Quenched and Tempered Steels, Inconel, Titanium and Duplex Stainless Steel. 11/15 until present, Owner, George Baldree Consulting & Kiyomi Industries, Brownsville, TX. Working with various clients in the Rio Grande Valley and Mexico on welding procedure qualifications, welder testing, various training, fabrication projects, manufacturing welding coupons, part time instruction at institutions. Projects include AWS CWI Inspections for Valley Welding Service, Mission, TX at Bert Ogden Arena and Joe Robbie Stadium structural fab at STI, McAllen, TX. Qualification of aluminum and stainless procedures for Hydro Gate in Mexico.
3/14 until 11/15, Welding Engineer, Maverick Testing Laboratories, LA Porte, TX. Responsible for consulting with clients for development of welding procedures to ASME, AWS, ABS, DNV, NACE codes and rules. Purchase of materials for procedure qualification. Selection of appropriate welding processes and filler materials. Writing welding procedure specifications and procedure qualification as necessary. Worked with steel and stainless steel along with nickel alloys and aluminum. Analysis of welding and metallurgical problems as required.

Assigned to metal fabrication line for the production of motorcycle fuel tanks. Supervise production activities as necessary. Suggest improvements to manufacturing methods.

Trained robot technicians about welding and operating an automatic line. Work with plant engineers concerning ramping up line for full production rates and handling day-to-day line issues.
2/03 until 9/03, Chief Inspector, under contract to Murphy Oil, New Orleans, LA. Inspected and reported on production of titanium riser pipes for off shore oil production platform. Followed parts to various subcontractors and inspected as required. Extensive travel was required between Las Vegas, Houston, San Diego, and the Los Angeles area, as end user representative, supervised and expedited contractors as necessary.
