Promoted to oversee the activity of start-up and to manage a new Division supplying the OEM’s - Ford, GM, Cami (Joint venture between GM & Suzuki) and Mazda with Interior Car parts such as Door panels, Headliners, Consoles, Instrument panels, Pillars and many other interiors parts. Ontegra Etobicoke grew from 50 to 450 employees over 6 years. Supervised 250 direct and 20 indirect employees. Involved in budgeting and business plan preparations as well as P&L statement reviews.

Selected Accomplishments:

Setting up Assembly lines to produce & assemble (including bonding & water jet cutting) Headliners in sequence. Pioneered assembly parts in-sequence and ship in sequence (ILVS) to customer.

Instrumental in installing state-of-the-art laser welding and laser scoring technology, slated to eliminate the seam associated on new air bags. Installing and start up of 12 Injection Molding Presses (from 1000 ton – 3000 ton).

Involved in choosing and installing several new thermoforming and vacuum forming processes.

Instituted and guided plants through successful QS 9000, ISO 14001, Q1, and TS 16949 certification.

Abolished all costs associated with acquiring specialized production software by interacting with Production Scheduler to launch a production timetable designed to avert the prospect of missed deadlines and provide management with an at-a-glance view of all work in progress.

Reduced inventory levels by inaugurating Min / Max and Kanban systems.

Reduced scrap about 50% by (1) controlling processes and (2) training operators to maximize the potential of existing systems.
