EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

2006- Present: Chief Operating Officer, Open Door Health Services, Inc. Muncie, Indiana

Responsible for day-to-day operations for the majority of the organization (a federally qualified health center (FQHC)) that currently serves over 20,000 patients annually with approximately 160 employees with multiple sites throughout east-central Indiana..

Supervises mid-level staff such as Site Supervisors and provides administrative supervision for physicians and mid-level providers.

Director for CKF of East-Central Indiana including navigator and other enrollment services throughout region.

Authorizes major purchases and payments for the organization.

Served on building committee that planned new site that replaced the most of the sites in the Muncie area with was completed Dec., 2011.

Participates on key board committees including the Quality Committee and attends and reports at monthly board meetings.

Supervises grant development for all major grants sought by organization.

Along with CFO provides leadership for all IT-related needs of the organization and serves as project manager for electronic medical record (EMR) implementation project.

Serve of Senior Leadership team which has led organization through several years of sustained growth including completion of HRSA review in late 2013 which found no conditions of participation out of compliance.

1995- 2006 Deputy Director, State of Indiana, Indianapolis, Indiana

Managed the operation of six large hospitals with approximately 1,500 beds, employing 2,700 staff and an annual operating budget of over $155 million.

Maintained excellent relationships with state legislators and state agencies including Medicaid, ISDH, State Budget Agency, and Dept. of Administration.

Maintained full JCAHO accreditation and CMS certification for all hospitals and units during tenure with three system-wide JCAHO surveys (1998, 2001, 2004).

Project manager for $29.2 million capital project, a well designed, efficient replacement hospital that was completed on time and within budget.

Developed project to eliminate 200 "less essential" positions in the six hospital system freeing up funding to create essential positions and save money.

Negotiated with two largest contractors to reduce contract costs while expanding services. Resulted in over $1.2 million annual reduction in operating costs.

Champion/sponsor for Six Sigma projects that resulted in over $2 million annual reduction in overtime usage across multiple facilities.

1994-1995 Director of Human Resources, State of Indiana, Richmond, Indiana

Provided overall leadership for human resources, payroll, employee health, security, and communications for a large healthcare facility with over 300 beds and approximately 600 employees.

40% reduction in unnecessary, redundant paperwork used in human resources and payroll areas to eliminate work for employees and supervisors.

Empowered immediate supervisors to make many decisions that were originally left to the Director of Human Resources.

Responsible for staff and personal contract section of the operating budget which comprised slightly over 90% of the total annual operating budget.

1989-1994 CEO/COO, Monco, Inc. (not for profit component of Montgomery Co. Board of MRDD), Dayton, Ohio

Reported to the Board of Directors of Monco, Inc. a not-for-profit organization providing vocational work opportunities for about 1,300 developmentally disabled individuals each day.

Developed annual budget and was responsible to the board for meeting budget expectations.

Along with board chairperson developed monthly agenda and coordinated board report information for each meeting.

Recommended new board members for consideration by board and helped with orientation for new members.

Worked with major contractors including companies such as General Motors, Standard Register, IAMS, and Pitney-Bowes.
