• Managed and secured 85% of all submarine cable system projects in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea for AT&T SSI (total value over $150 Million USD in 18 months).

• Managed the formation of joint ventures in various fields with priority in Telecommunications in the CIS and Middle East regions.

• Participated and oversaw privatizations of Government owned companies in Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

• Managed matchmaking between private investors and various state owned production facilities in Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.

• Participated and managed the preparation for the government privatization (auction) of 10 state owned production facilities in the Czech Republic and participated in the negotiations of their sale to international private investors. Part of the preparation of these industries was their transformation from military products orientation to commercially targeted production entities.

• Under a consultancy contract with the Greek Government I held the position of Adviser to the Greek Minister of PT&T on the restructuring of the Greek Post Office. During this period and under my direction and guidance the Hellenic Post Office was restructured and moved from

STAT Communications SA 1978 to 1996

Vice Chairman and Co-Founder

AT&T/LUCENT Exclusive Business Partner for Southern Europe Middle East & Africa

• Managed all negotiations, and purchasing for resale, of electronic equipment from Fortune 500 companies (i.e. Lucent, Cisco, HP, Apple, LG, Sony, IBM etc.)

• Managed all Market development and Project Management for the equipment and services sales from AT&T- Lucent - AVAYA to the Greek and Cypriot PTTs, (18 years) until the company was sold to ALTEC.

• Achieved sales growth from $1M (1978) to $78M (1996)

• Prepared, Managed, and negotiated the bids of the company to all Government owned entities in Greece, Cyprus, and the Balkans.

• Sold the first national leased line network to the Cyprus PTT (CYTA) using AT&T-Lucent equipment ($3M) as well as 5 submarine FO cable links between Cyprus and neighboring Middle Eastern countries ($150M).

• Managed all sales and negotiations for AT&T Submarine Systems in the southeastern Mediterranean region achieving sales over $18M/year.

• Sold the first 5ESS Digital International Gateway Switch to ($12M) Greece which was the first AT&T/Lucent switch ever sold in Greece and in the entire Balkan region.

• Represented the company as a Partner in the RACE Tele-publishing Project Management Team along with DETECON, SOGITEC, ELSYP and other International Companies. Our team was the first to create the “know- how” within the EU to effectively perform Tele-publishing across boarders of EU member countries.

• Was responsible for implementing all Sales & Project Management activities of STAT SA (1979-1986) regarding Western Electric – Lucent - Avaya International Enterprise product line (PBX equipment) sales in Greece, Cyprus, and the Balkans.

• In 1978 and under my leadership, STAT became the first distributor/agent for Western Electric International and remained the sole agent and technical center of competence for AT&T International (later Lucent) in Europe until the Olivetti/AT&T joint Venture.

• Sold and managed the implementation of the first digital EPABX systems in Greece (1981), Cyprus, and the Balkans. At the time, these were the only Digital EPABX systems from AT&T/Lucent sold in Europe and Central Asia. My direction was instrumental in the efforts of Western Electric’s expansion in the International markets since STAT was one of three agents in the world and its only partner in Europe (until 1987).
