The project undertaken as part of my Masters Curriculum is titled ‘Soil Resource Inventory of A-Vazhapadi, Mettur and Mannarpalayam Villages of Vazhapadi block of Salem District’ done under the guidance of Mrs. B. Muthulakshmi, M.Sc., M.Phil., Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, Govt. Arts College (Autonomous), Salem-7. The major focus of this research was to study the effect of micronutrients, macronutrients, and organic carbon on plants when these deviate from the appropriate levels and assure acidity/alkalinity of the soil. The study also endeavored to account for the percentage of micronutrients, macronutrients and organic carbon required by experimental methods. The findings provided a clear picture of the nature and composition of soil and thereby established the nutrient deficiencies in the Vazhapadi block of Salem District.
