Previously whenever an Eligibility Inquiry (270) was initiated by the provider, it referred to
the PIBA database, which acted like a product repository of Horizon. This was loaded
externally by a source and was not dynamic. So, all the Products were to be moved to the
CPL(Central Product Library).It was acting as a secondary product repository earlier.. It can
support new products and their respective service types.
This project consisted of three important validations:
1. Regression testing of the PIBA groups
Existing functionality was checked to see if all the transactions with Eligibility and Product
Inquiry worked, without fail. Regression test cases were identified for the same and used.
Snapshots and results were recorded for the above. This was part of CPL Phase I.
2. Migration of PIBA groups to CPL:
Some groups in PIBA were replicated in CPL by creating the same group in main frames
under the same product and pushing them under CPL. As a part of Provider Portal, we
validated if the replicated CPL group produced correct results. Validation points also
include checking Web service messages to determine the source and parameters passed in
the response.
3. Creating new groups in CPL, and validating them.
The New Membership team created new groups in CPL. Our team (Provider Portal)
performed validations to check if they work correctly, and if the expected result is met for
different products and their service types both in the portal and the web service messages.

Horizon Health Care Innovations is another initiation driven by the client. HHI consisted of
a set of pilot programs which enrolled members, maintained records and facilitated ease
of access by Physicians to those patient records.
There were 3 pilot programs in all:
1. Patient Centered Medical Home(PCMH)
2.
Episodes of Care(EOC)
3. Oncology Care Model(OCM).
PCMH and OCM testing were done at onsite, as their portals were relatively small.
Only
EOC was handled offshore. The EOC portal is primarily to maintain a patient's record
before surgery, his surgery details and his condition post- surgery. There are different
functionalities for each, in this portal:
• The physician could add a patient to the Patient Roster, by filling his details. For
patients with certain conditions,
• EOC would not be eligible, and the patient may not be applicable to surgery
through EOC.
• Only patients who were ineligible for the first time can be tried adding to the
roster for the second time.
Agile testing methodology was practiced for this project, for testing the various stages and
conditions of Episodes of Care portal. Unlike the waterfall model, there were no
Requirement documents and test plans available. There were only user stories and aiding
flow diagrams to each high level scenario. The test cases were drafted according to these
high level scenarios and executed. Defects were created and tracked. Defects fixes were
immediate and has to be re-executed and closed.
The project release happened as Sprints. After every two weeks, some part of the project
(or collection of user stories) goes live, as a part of sprint.

Testing was also performed for this project.
