2014-09/17 Nike, Inc AREA MANAGER-Distribution Center Memphis, TN
As an area manager my responsibilities included hiring, training and supervising 25 employees; planning, organizing and controlling the Sort Operation to ensure that each employee met their productivity goals. I ensured all my employees were crossed trained in all areas of the DC to ensure success. I organized administrative functions to create effective lines of communication with the employees and upper management. I motivated employees to improve retention of high performance individuals. I aided in enhancing management/employee relations.
05/12- 2014 FAMILY DOLLAR AREA MANAGER-Distribution Center West Memphis, AR
I ensured that work area is appropriately staffed for assigned shift and that production, quality and safety standards are maintained. My duties include communicating effectively across departments within DC to achieve daily operational goals, conducting physical inspections of assigned work area/equipment, supervising over 40 employees and daily distributions. I’m also responsible for operational problems and tracking accident reports.
1996 – 2012 FED-EX MANAGER – International Export Operations Memphis, TN
I ensured freight movement to Latin America and the Caribbean Region. My span of control includes two (2) Ramp Agents, two (2) Team Leaders and 18 Checkers. My duties include conducting performance reviews, service checks, staging freight to generate volume, monitoring the aircraft load, and resolving any concerns of down line customers. My area objective is to ensure the aircraft departs on time, 100% service level and strategic alignment with global customers.
01/96-07/96 FED-EX MANAGER – International Document Sort Memphis, TN
My responsibilities included hiring, training and supervising 30 employees; planning, organizing and controlling the Sort Operation to ensure that each employee assigns and receives comprehensive personal training in manifest pulling, US export freight checking, and Ramp Safety. I planned work activities surrounding the nightly operation. I organized administrative functions to create effective lines of communication with the employees and upper management. I motivated employees to improve retention of high performance individuals. I aided in enhancing management/employee relations.
1993 – 1996 FED-EX MANAGER – Offload Operations Memphis, TN
My duties included the monitoring of inbound fleet and container movement. I ensured that each employee was assigned and received Ramp Safety training. I monitored the Offload of aircrafts under given parameters. I communicated with the Domestic Control Room to ensure proper flight assessment.
