The functional aspect of this project is to create, inquire and update the details and also get the transaction details for the card holder of a financial major. The actual implementation is to consume the request in xml format over HTTP protocol and calling the mainframe backend through MQ/Stored Procedure using transformation logic and finally display the transformed output in form of response to consumer.

Project Description

PDAE is a data base where Rail related jobs are running and scheduled for creating reports to the upstream application. SQL Server 2008 used as back-end. SSIS (SQL Server Integration Studio) Packages are used as part of loading/storing data from Oracle database. CPIn is the SharePoint portal used by the external customers of CPR to know their inventory, tracking their orders and availability of cars.

Challenges Faced

The application required SSIS Packages. Though new to SSIS packages, learnt quickly and implemented without any bugs

Since the data involved was huge, various runs of query optimization were performed to assess and bring down time taken for data retrieval
