Attention hiring manager;
I am sending you this email in response to the opening for the position of entry-level engineer/technician. I am extremely interested in this position. Please accept my forwarded resume for consideration, as my mechanical skills along with my strong work ethic would be an enormous asset to your company.
I am a recent graduate of Mechanical Engineering from UMass Dartmouth, where I graduated with a 3.3 GPA. I have a strong mechanical aptitude, along with excellent organizational and technical writing skills. While attending college, I worked 3 years as an Operations and Manufacturing Engineering intern for Nye Lubricants. In that position, I have gained experience with quality testing and validation of equipment, process improvement, and hands on testing and processing. In addition, I designed a record keeping system to replace the previous one for more accurate tracking of product production, as well as acted as team leader on other large scale projects. I was frequently recognized by supervising Engineers for my attention to detail, my aptitude to learn, and my ability to complete my projects in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
Although I am a new graduate, I feel that my experience and skills set me apart from others. I appreciate your time in reviewing my application, and look forward to hearing back from you.
Sincerely,
Matthew Vicino
