As an apparel & textile design Team Leader:

Report to the Designing Team Manager.

Inspire, create and develop designs in the corresponding category.

Responsible for assigning tasks to team members.

The season’s category samples

from buyer are handed over by the Design Head.

Assign sample indexing and style album preparation task to juniors.

Participate in the Sample Selection Meeting with the team members.

Assign style album making with selected samples for the season to Designer.

Participate in the Technical Specifications Meeting with team members.

Discuss and confirm style specifications for the categories.

Responsible for obtaining approval of buyer on sample album of selected styles to

proceed for design / style development.

Discuss action plan with team members. Identify styles for design development and distribute tasks amongst all. Evaluate styles by their complexity. Allocate complex styles to senior / experienced members, team leader included.

Direct, advice and assist team members in design development where necessary.

Assign techpack preparation of the style to the same team member who designed it.

Verify the techpack developed by team members for their completeness.

Design and develop complex styles.

Prepare techpacks for the styles developed and verify their completeness.

Check and confirm approval with Designing manager for tech packs developed by self before release.

Establish TnA for each style based on its delivery date in the buyer order.

Schedule the style handover meetings as per style / style pack TnA.

Hold style handover meeting with merchandising, production, sample and pattern making and garment technician departments.

Follow and implement style TnA among the team members.

Receive, check and approve fabric lab dips; fit, size set and PP samples;

Prints and embroidery samples and placements; and trim developments for styles in production.

Evaluate team members’ performance by reviewing their self-assessments and set targets.

Consult and obtain confirmation approvals for fabric lab dips; fit, size set and PP samples; prints and embroidery samples and placements; and trim developments for styles in production from Design Head.

Make self-assessments through a set of KRA for review by the Designing manager.
