Yates Services
Yates Services is a service contractor for Nissan of Canton Ms. I lead a team of 18 technicians for every day AGV operation, and repair for 3 working shifts. I ensured the technical, safety, Human Resource, and OSHA training for all techs, per Yates Services information and standards. Yates uses the ISO 14001Environmental and 5S standards.
I have maintained my mechanical skill set by training technicians to improve their skills and to encourage better team work. I have assisted technicians in troubleshooting to resolve maintenance / mechanical issues to complete the task.
In five months I helped my team reduce the AGV downtime to improve supply handling and manufacturing flow. In eight months I was promoted to lead Supervisor.
From the time I was hired at Yates Services, Yates encouraged cost savings ideas. My first year resulted in a savings for these companies (Yates and Nissan) of $36,000.00. The second year resulted in a savings of $24000.00.
Levi Strauss
I lead a team 31 technicians for every day plant operation and repair for 4 working shifts. I ensured the technical, safety, Human Resource, and OSHA training for my employees, also provided the aforementioned to some of the production operators, supervisors, and managers. All in accordance with Levi Strauss and Co. information and standards. While I was the Maintenance Department Lead in charge of the equipment and building at Levi Strauss we were working towards a Leeds Certification. We also implemented and used the 5S standards.
I reduced KWh usage by 16% with the use of monitoring equipment and processes. Examples are controlling the building management system, installing high bay CFL lamps, installing opportunity charge batteries in a fleet of 32 fork lifts and installing VFDs on high use motors during my management tenure.
Installed an equipment management system (Total Trax) on a fleet of 32 forklifts. A program which also had a “dashboard” for equipment maintenance, driver certification, impact, and lift utilization.
Coordinating and assisting a team on various projects, such as,
Fire protection system repairs – tank, plumbing, pumps,
New equipment installation – conveyor systems, 200hp compressed air systems, corrugation and plastic balers,
A million dollar parts room setup and operation with a maintenance program CMMS.
